bottle shared by tom10101, thanks dude. pours unclear brown-reddish with a small light beige head, some retention and lacing. cacao and cherries, roasted spicy chocolate, unmistakable bourbon - loads of it, even tannic, grass, pepper, other spices. surprisingly not too boozy with a moderate sweetness. light to medium acidity - few balsamic notes and an overall nice acidity complexity. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily, grassy-spicy astringent finish. just a tad roastiness missing for it to taste more like a porter in my sense, but eh, it’s a quite nice offering!

Bottle:   Has this sweet chocolate cherry covered Bourbon sorta sourness going on.   Sweet and tart, with that chocolate covered cherry aspect.   Instead of Rum we get Bourbon.   Great balance, smooth, a little dry.   When I thought Sour Porter, give me a break, but it actually works.   Its more Sour than Porter, which is why it works.   Showcases the chocolate covered cherry aspects pretty well.   Smooth, tart, yet with that chocolate covered cherry and bourbon.   Doesn’t hurt that its 12.1% either.   I am rather impressed with this one, and it exceeded my expectations.   It really is like a soured dark chocolate covered cherry aged in Bourbon.   Wonderful stuff!

Bottle 750ml. [2009] Pours very dark brown, or black, with medium-high soapy head. Aroma is of fruits, alcohol, berries, sugar. Taste is of fruits, alcohol, caramel, sugar. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Average balance at best. Overall: Surprisingly good for what it is, but not outstanding.

Pours a murky red with a weak head that doesn’t leave lacing. Nose is of vinegar and red grapes. Taste is sweet and sour, acetic but not over the top. Fruity flavors all the way: cherries and grapes mostly. I cannot say that I sensed bourbon that much. Carbonation is moderate, body medium. Alcohol is pretty apparent and warming. Not bad, not bad.

Bottle (750 m). 2009 vintage. Thanks to Rich for this one! Murky brown with a medium diminishing beige head. Aroma of bourbon, red fruits, vanilla, spices, wood and balsamic notes. Taste is moderately sweet and sour with bourbon, vanilla, red fruits, wood, balsamic notes, a touch of alcohol and red fruits. Medium to full body. Moderate carbonation. Nice complexity, but a tad too heavy for my liking. I would classify this one as a Sour Red/Brown instead of a Sour/Wild Ale. Tasty.

Bottle thanks to Diego. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is spice and oak. Medium mouthfeel with light tartness, oak, spice, roast with light sour finish. Very good.

Bottle. The pour is a hazy brown. The aroma is almost overpowering, in a good way. The taste is amazingly good. Great mix of sour, spices, and bourbon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
