3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2011 Bottle. I’m not sure if it was the bottle we had or what but this is what I got. Aroma of stone fruit pit, dried but soured cherries, some earthy grass notes, and a weird acidity to it. It was the combo of the aromas and the tart wine flavors that were a off putting. I wasn’t the only one either that was thrown off by this brew. I will have to try again.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
750 c&c shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown with a transient beige head. Aroma is like getting sour wine and wood stuffed up your nose. Woot!!!! Flavor is sour wine, musty oak, and some majorly dark treacle. This is to die for. Gets a little chocolate with time.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Belmont Station. Pours dark brown with no head and a cherry and treacle aroma. There is a nicely sour dark malt flavor with lots of cherry. The flavor is not easy to describe other than to say it is delicious.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
pours deep mahogany with a beige head. Aroma is red wine, oak, vanilla, sweet dark fruit. Taste is similar with nice balance between sweet dark fruit/red wine with tart acidity there as well, spicy and dry in the finish, nice oak/vanilla/bourbon in the background which melds perfectly. Alcohol present but not abrasive, soft mouthfeel, very easy drinking. A great beer.

Ruby brown with an off-white head. Aroma is bourbon, earthy mushrooms, vanilla, sour cherry, dates, funk, figs. Full bodied, delicious tartness on the palate with a huge supporting sweetness, slight roughness in the back of the throat. Taste is fig, balsamic reduction, dates, bourbon, red wine. Wow.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
2011 bottle. Pours a very dark dark brown color with creamy head that dissipates quick. Has a very strange aroma. A big blend of smooth spices. Kind of reminds me of a Christmas time dessert. Then the smell brings a weird tart pool water note. Not necessarily bad but very interesting. A very interesting beer all around. The taste brings a creamy spice with a tart background that finishes sour and lingers on. A very nice taste is left on the lips that keeps the taste going. A spicy carbonation in the back feel. With a dry finish. A very unique beer. Starts to get a little boozy as it really warms. Nothing too strong. I’m a fan.
