Dark brown body, off-white head, spotty lacing. Quad like dark fruits, a little bourbon-booze, and oak. Some leather, must, and vinous notes are also present. Medium bodied, silky feel on the tongue, moderate acidity and sourness are in each sip. Only a little residual heat. Quite nice.

750ml bottle Pours out darker brown topped with a tan head. Aroma was of bourbon, oak, vanilla, pit fruit, and funk. Taste was much as the aroma with the bourbon leading the way. I have to say I was really excited to try this as soon as I heard about it. When we opened it what a letdown, but as it sat it opened up and made a comeback. Unfortunately it didnít live up to my hopes.

Baileys 2nd Anniversary Festival. Two completely different sides coming together for the unthinkable. Big bourbon brown with a acedic sour finish. Soft hints of chocolate, vanilla, cherry, and loads of bourbon up front. Oaky and delicious with a prickly acedic and lactic sour finish.

Sampled at GABF! Another one Iím glad I had a chance to try! Another chestnut colored pour with a small ivory head. Aroma is lemon and roasted malt, tart cherry skin and bourbon. Descent amount of oak and vanilla for a sour ale, accompanied by dark fruit. Still get a bit of the mouth pucker and lactic sourness. Medium mouthfeel. Pretty tasty.

Pour from bottle at What the Funk!? 2014. Appearance is murky brown with a small cream colored head and decent lacing. Caramelly, toffee, slightly tannic, light oxidation, bready, green apple, brown sugar, tangy, and red grapey aroma. Taste is red wine vinegar, tannins, pears, toffee, bourbon, light roast, and brown sugar with a big sour finish. Slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Way too acidic and sour for my liking.

Bottle shared by TheAlum at Muckfest III...thanks Adam! - Pours ruby brown with a thin bubbly tan head. Nose is sweet bourbon with some cinammon that comes through the light tartness. Maltier than I expected, until I read the label and realized this was a sour porter. Taste is real sweet, but not cloying, with vanilla and brown sugar, a cherry sourness, and real mild tartness. Smooth and well-carbonated, this beer was pretty restrained for what it is--impressive.

on tap at EBF Dark brown Nose is Oaky tart apples and white grapes Starts tart. Finishes oaky with grapes and cherries with smoke and boozy heat. Itís very hard to say its okay or not. Overall, a very boozy sour which is not desirable.

Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike! A: Dark brown hue, with an eighth inch of head that leaves some good lacing on the glass. S: Sourness, cherries, booze / alcohol, oak, funk. T: Ooo...this is different...I like it. A healthy level of complexity exists here in this glass. Intriguing and challenging, with flavors of oak, wine, cherries, bourbon, and funkiness. This daring beer walks a fine line between triumph and failure. Iím a fan. M: Pretty smooth feel, notwithstanding the massively complex pungent blitzkrieg of funky, fruity booze. D: While I do prefer Vlad the Imp Aler, I really enjoyed this brew. I love sours, even / especially ones that challenge the palate. This was a really fun experience. Iíd happily drink this again.
