Bottle generously shared by Dave. Aroma of pez, dark cherries, and instant lemonade. Pours hazy purple with no head or lacing. Taste is lush cherries, tart lemonade mix, and sweet tart candies. Nice tartness and a sweet mouthfeel. The powdered candy taste was slightly offputting but it was still enjoyable.

Draft at the brewery.

Dark, nearly black pour with red highlights. Cherry licorice aroma, some sourness. Modestly sour flavor, plenty of pie cherries of course. Cascade just doesn’t do funk, though. The sourness is there, but the funk ain’t. Still pretty good and something I’d be quite happy to drink when stumbling across it on tap.

On tap at the big old barrel. Pours a dark red color with a small white head. The aroma is oak and huge cherry. Funky dry flavors, some mostly sweet cherries, more oak, lacto sourness, some vanilla fits into a spicy cherry character. Pretty sour but very drinkable. Awesome. I love me some Kriek.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2014 Bottle: thanks, Kevin! Ruby, dark red color with some brown-ish hints & a thin ring of slightly pink-tinted "head", leaving no lacing behind. Aroma has notes of juicy cherry, oak, & lighter berry notes, all with a big tartness, oak, & some mild, lemon-like acidity. Taste includes ripe cherries, green apples, berries, & some lemon flesh; nicely sour & puckering while maintaining a soft acidity throughout. Wet oak isn’t there at first, but becomes noticeable in the finish with a very faint mustiness (possibly another side affect of the oak). Dry, cherry & lemon skin finish with a light aftertaste of oak. Very nice brew.

On tap at Cascade’s Raccoon Lodge. It’s deep maroon with a nice aroma of cherries. Taste is lovely, cherries and lots of oak, complex and moderately sweet, with a mild tartness. Very very nice.

750 ml bottle from OregonHopMonster. Thanks again, dude. Pours a deep dark ruby reddish hue, well hazed, dark maroon hue, rich with a decent tannish head atop. Dies to a filmy layer, laces ok. Aromas are rich crimson berry, sweeter pie cherries. Some tart lactic life as it settles, vanilla and wet oak really compliment well here. Faint biscuit, nice fruity red fruit driven element. Sourness sneaks up and becomes pretty solid. Initial is tart, pie cherry and sour cherry mix. Lactic lemony life, sour and lively. Good firm lactic presence into the middle, gentle Balsalmic feel. Firmer oak, gentle yet growing vanilla hits. Malt bill gets smaller. Cherries, gentle raspberry and pulpy fruit. A touch of biscuity malts. Sour backend, dry, tannic cherry skin. One of the less ABV driven/feel on the palate. Some good gentle oak barrel, faint whiskey feel and vanilla flavor. Not hot, firmer sourness really grows. Pretty damn tasty. Sharper lactic and sour cherry life as we get in. Well balanced, sour slanted, really enjoyed this. Nose is much more oaky, a bit more muted. But beer is pretty damn good.

Ruby red, small vinegar nose. the fresh bing cherries are uber delicious. nice and crusty, sour but not too much. really special and fantastic! I’d love to open another one of these soon. think kriek from 3F but no mustiness or basement funk.
