4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Snifter at the brewery.
A: Dark cherry red with hints of plum. No head (from barrel). Sticks to glass.
N: Bing cherry. Leather, tobacco. Decent sourness level. Vinous with some pinot noir grape.
T: Dead ringer for a pinot noir/burgundy. Cherry, leather, dirt, tobacco. Jammy with currants. Dried cranberries. This is really quite accomplished.
M: Coating for a heavier body, again reminiscent of the reds.
O: Color me shocked. This isnít one for the lactic crowd, but one for the wine drinker. Good stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the brewery.
Dark, nearly black pour with red highlights. Cherry licorice aroma, some sourness. Modestly sour flavor, plenty of pie cherries of course. Cascade just doesnít do funk, though. The sourness is there, but the funk ainít. Still pretty good and something Iíd be quite happy to drink when stumbling across it on tap.

Bottle generously shared by Dave. Aroma of pez, dark cherries, and instant lemonade. Pours hazy purple with no head or lacing. Taste is lush cherries, tart lemonade mix, and sweet tart candies. Nice tartness and a sweet mouthfeel. The powdered candy taste was slightly offputting but it was still enjoyable.
