4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
04AUG12 - at barrel house. From the live cask.
This beer blew my mind. I would pay $25 for 12oz of this, and buy a case. Seriously.
Nice and dark brown with cherry hues. Flat appearing. (This beer will get inflated appearance score simply because I feel it deserves it based on the overall experience) The Nose is cherry - sweet, dark cherries. Sherry, oak, vanilla, tawny port, caramel, hints of sour cherries as well. I spent quite a bit of time in the glass of this beer. Then ordered more to share with the wife. I canít articulate the nose on this beer. Flavor was a blend of ruby and 10yr tawny ports, vanilla, cherry, slightly sour, leather, tobacco, tanning oils, slightly toasted sugars. Fuck, I donít know - the stuff you wanna taste - it was here. Full bodied with a viscous finish and velvety feel.
Please, make more.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at barrelhouse. Strong bourbon with smooth vanilla and cherry followed by a strong alcohol warming. A little much on the alcohol. But a great barrel and fruit compliment.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at the barrel house. Dark brown pour with a thick brown head. Aroma is tart cherries, bourbon, some roast notes. Flavor is big and boozy. The tartness plays nicely with the fruit and malt notes. This was an amazing beer. Really nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the barrelhouse. Pours hazy brown with a finger light brown head. Amazing acidic cherry smell, strong, earth and estery banana. Taste is light up front, but very strong yeast and cherry and an almost vegetable quality toward the finish. Very well done.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Live barrel at the Barrel House - Pours murky brown with no head. Nose is deep and malty, sweet with sour cherry and bourbon sweetness. Taste is big and sweet with lots of sourness and malt. Not too tart, but restrained. Toffee sweetness hinted at on the finish, along with some Smarties tartness and black cherry. Smooth, big body. Itís good, but a little all over the place.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Live, gravity drawn barrel @ Their Barrel House... Poured opaque, dark brown and a khaki head. Cherry and fruity with acidic tartness. Not totally acetone as many of their recent blends have been. Ashy, dry palate. Some caramel sweetness an whiskey from the barrels. Finished with candied sweetness, toasted grains and sugars, oak, and alcohol burn.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Live barrel at the barrel house. Pours murky dark mahogany with little head. Aroma is cherry/bourbon/vanilla. Full bodied. Flavor is sour cherry with subdued bourbon/vanilla/oak. With time the sour mellows, the cherry subsides a bit, and the b/v increases. Complex and tasty beer.
