4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 rbrazell (1013) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 14, 20122011 Project. Pours a cloudy burgundy with amber highlights and a small tan head. Aroma of oak and sour cherries up front followed by some light barnyard funk and lemon with underlying vinegar. Aroma doesn’t come close to the insanely lip puckering sourness this beer has. Strong cherry sourness up front, Pinot notes and barn funk. Nice body and a tart dry cherry finish. Some alcohol present. Damn tasty beer.

Terrific sour, maybe the best of the Cascades I’ve had. Murky brownish pour with reddish tints, and a nice spritzy carbonation. Very fine aroma, with tart cherries, deep oaky complexity, balsamic, and some understated candy sweetness too. Mouthfeel is lively, with a moderately acetic feel on the palate, but neither element is overdone. Flavors are if anything even more complex than the nose, with the barrel slightly more prominent in ways that coax more dark fruit character and sweetness. Tartness and brightness are still there, and everything integrates very well. Very fine sour.

Bottle shared by pmoney. Served in a FFF teku.
A: Pours a dark ruby color with a light tan head forming on the pour. It recedes to at thin ring that leaves some soapy lace behind.
S: Tart cherries with some light hints of bourbon. Sharp vinegar aspect to it with a oak barrel as well. Medium sweetness from malts run across the nose.
T: Cherry pie filling with tart cherry skins. Lactic sourness with some zingy vinegar notes. Sweet barrel finish with a combination of oak, vanilla and light bourbon.
M: Medium to light bodied, alcohol is well hidden with a zingy finish.
O: Sort of like a black cherry warhead in a sense with a less intense sour pucker. Zingy and tart with some sweetness from the barrel. Nice beer.

Huge thanks to Mora2000 for this delicious feast. 2011 Bottle, consumed in spring of 2013. Reddish brown pour. Aroma had cherries, wine, barrels, funk, tons of sourness and tartness. Flavor was enamel peeling sourness, tartness that would require some tums, cherries, cinnamon. Incredibly dry and thirst quenching, lively mouthfeel. Excellent, excellent beer!!

Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle. Shared at the pre-BTBF tasting with some great out of town Ratebeerians who used to call the DFW Crew home.
Dark purple-brown color with a white head. The aroma is awesome. I get a lot of dark fruit and sour cherry notes, as well as tartness and light funk. The flavor is more of the same. I love the sour cherries and funk character as well as some toffee. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Amazing. Super pumped I got to try this one.

Dark brown. Cloudy. Looks like prune juice
Loads of fig and old muscat grapes
Holy hell. This is sour! Not even hiding the intensity. Very red grape heavy. Lots of tannins.
