COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This live barrel of NW style sour red ale was initially aged for six months in French oak wine barrels, then additionally aged on elderberries. Sharp wine, dark raisins, red grapes and cereal notes greet you on the nose. Tart dark fruit and grapes on the palate lead to a sparkling crisp dry finish with hints of fresh elderberries and grape skins.

Sour acetic acid aroma. Almost butiric some elderberries, but mostly sour. May be over time may mellow, more lambic like not bad just not balanced like the other awesome beers from here.

750ml bottle pours a dark amber with some beige head. Nose is very jammy, funky, berry, vinous, a little soda. Flavor is tart and sweet, an odd malt note character, berry, vegetal. Tart finish.

Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Tan head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Dark pit fruit and funk aromas. Sharp with sweet oak and dark berries upfront turning tart in the dusty elderberry finish.

Dégustée chez Alexandre Mathieu. Cheers buddy!

Bottle at Max & Jess’s Taco Party! Pours a deep brown with a thin tan head. Cheesy and funky, berries on the nose over malt and funky acid. Medium bodied, tart and funky, a bit of dark malt, long tangy berries, a hint of sweetness and tangy acid into the finish. Very tasty, big acid.

On tap at the barrel house in Portland. Pours brown with a small head. Aroma of berries, some sourness, light oak, more dark fruits, and some malts. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not bad at all but sort of weird on the finish.
