COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This live barrel of NW style sour red ale was initially aged for six months in French oak wine barrels, then additionally aged on elderberries. Sharp wine, dark raisins, red grapes and cereal notes greet you on the nose. Tart dark fruit and grapes on the palate lead to a sparkling crisp dry finish with hints of fresh elderberries and grape skins.

One of the better cascade sours, this one is perfectly tart and fruity. Will get again one day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml bottle. Thanks to Tim G. Color is a murkey deep brown. Aroma is a variety of berries, blackberry, elderberry, mixed berry jam.

The flavor got very intensely sour as it warmed. Acidic notes that give a sharp pucker in the taste buds. It does show a good amount of berries with a jam-like character. It also has some tannic oak hints.

I never turn down a brew that is offered to me but this is not the kind of brew I would openly buy or order. My review reflects my enjoyment level of this. For me just way to sour.

Personal note: Rating number 100 for the state of Oregon

Sample at Hoof Hearted during the Dragonsaddle Triple IPA Can Release on 11/15/2015. Dark brown pour with some ruby around the edges, and a medium thin pinkish white head that evaporates quickly to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of berries, oak and yeast. Medium body with flavors of tart berries, yeast, oak and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately tart with a berry and fig aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Tap at the barrel house. Deep mahogany pour with a white head. Im not sure what an elderberry is, but I get something like a cross between a blueberry and blackberry. And I dig it. Sour bite on the tongue, soft finish. Very nice.

Taster at the brewery. Cola color with an beige head and modest lace. Aromas of dark berry jam and funk. Sour taste featuring dark fruits, what I guess are elderberries. Medium body, gentle carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and a tart finish.

Sour acetic acid aroma. Almost butiric some elderberries, but mostly sour. May be over time may mellow, more lambic like not bad just not balanced like the other awesome beers from here.

Bottle shared by a friend. Clear copper pour with a thin beige head. Aroma of sour fruit, baby puke and malt. Malt and caramel flavor with elderberry accents before a sour fruit finish.

750ml bottle pours a dark amber with some beige head. Nose is very jammy, funky, berry, vinous, a little soda. Flavor is tart and sweet, an odd malt note character, berry, vegetal. Tart finish.

Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Tan head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Dark pit fruit and funk aromas. Sharp with sweet oak and dark berries upfront turning tart in the dusty elderberry finish.
