COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This live barrel of NW style sour red ale was initially aged for six months in French oak wine barrels, then additionally aged on elderberries. Sharp wine, dark raisins, red grapes and cereal notes greet you on the nose. Tart dark fruit and grapes on the palate lead to a sparkling crisp dry finish with hints of fresh elderberries and grape skins.

At Cascade Barrel House... Poured deep amber with a bubbly head. Very tart, with loads of tart berry flavors. Quite dry, some lactic acid, and more fruitiness all the way to the finish. Wine-like characteristics an a little hot with a sour/boozy mixture.

Nose is full of sour, vinegar, berries, some brine. Pours reddish, with hints of purple and shit. Flavors of tart, sour, fruity berry notes, some grape skins, brine. Interesting, nice, drinkable and sour as fuck.

acetic and vinegar-like, brine and salt character is strong. medium-light body with low bitterness but heavy acid. black pepper phenols seem to overwhelm after a short time. crunchy oat bran malt layers hidden under the acid. decent but nothing special.
