COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour ale is a strong blond ale aged in chardonnay barrels for up to 12 months, then aged with dried white figs and lemon peel or up to 12 more months. Aromas of sweet figs, golden raisins, and citrus zest are the first to be noticed. Hints of white wine grapes, lemon peel, and sweet figs roll across the palate, leading to a crisp lemon tartness in the finish that leaves a lingering sweetness on the tongue.

Rating #1640 - #CBC2015 Beer 25 - On tap at Cascade - Pours a clear golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma is oak, figs, Brett. Medium-high carbonation, medium alcohol warmth, decent body. Palate holds more barrel character, with loads of funky Brett and sweet fruity notes. Lovely.

Bottle: Massive thanks Pushkinwow! 2012 project: Quick disappearing head. Hazy orange body. Aroma is an incredible mix of funk, wood, wild yeast, grapes, some other fruit tints, lightly white vinous, etc etc.. So inviting and interesting! Guess the special part in the aroma (and flavour) are the white figs. Flavour is sour, funky, white grapes, light white vinous, some wild yeast, light cheese, light otger fruit tints, some sprinkles of malts. Again etc. So tasty! Aftertaste is softer tartness with grapes, funk, light wood, light wild yeast, light lacto and some other fruit tints combines with a malty sprinkle. Medium carbo, light watery tart mouthfeel, more than medium bodied. Interesting balance, delicously tasty and beautiful complexity.

Pours a hazy golden orange from the bomber with thin ring of off-white head. Aroma of big lactic sourness, sweet vanilla and barrel notes, oaky tannins. Taste follows with sweet fruity notes, not really fig, but fruity. Booze is incredibly well hidden, really nice.

Glass thanks to the brewer at Borefts Beer Festival. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma has lots of lemon peel, citrus, tart stone fruits and a good amount of funk. Some grapey notes just in the back of the aroma. Taste is very tart, citric, lemon peel, stone fruits, some grapey tartness, funk. Dont see where the figs get in this but it’s pretty darn tasty anyhow!

750ml shared by Nick. Juicy super sour fig, lemon tones. Unfiltered orange-tan body. Oily thin head. Deep vinegar tones. A nice tasty treat, but too much vinegar and overboard sour tones for me. Some mild oak undertones. Not much subtlety or depth.

On tap @ the brewery, RBSG. Hazy light orange. Vague unripened orchard fruits, a bit funky, moderate acetic sourness. Good.
