COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour ale is a strong blond ale aged in chardonnay barrels for up to 12 months, then aged with dried white figs and lemon peel or up to 12 more months. Aromas of sweet figs, golden raisins, and citrus zest are the first to be noticed. Hints of white wine grapes, lemon peel, and sweet figs roll across the palate, leading to a crisp lemon tartness in the finish that leaves a lingering sweetness on the tongue.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2012 Pours light brown dark orange with a very thin white head. Nose is lemon peel, coriander, vinegar, rose pedals and apples. Taste is complex. A wave of fluctuating bitter and sweet with an ever present sour through it all. Mouthfeel is soft and sticky, a bit like syrup addition, body is heavy and the finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

75cl bottle via Beer Gonzo. It pours a clean orange color with a medium white head. Aroma is big funky lemon notes and light sweet fruits. Some raisins, lemon juice, lemon leaves, earthy funk, horse blanket. Taste is sour acidic, with a light fruity sweetness. Mostly citric sour with notes of lemon juice, lemon peel, light earthy funk, barnyard. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, excellent, resembles a Gueuze.

Best beer I’ve had in recent memory. Hands down. You are going to read the word "sour" multiple times in this review. Aroma was sour. Lemon, grape skins and vinegar. I know sour is not a smell, but this thing hit your nose as sour as soon as it opened. Pour was a nice hazy medium gold with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was, you guessed it sour. Mouth puckering. You can taste the barrel, the figs and lemon behind the huge hit of sour goodness. Well worth the big price tag. Mild carbonation but it doesn’t detract from this gem.

Bottle pour at the May 1st DC Tasting. Poured a hazy dark golden color with a fizzy white head. Aroma has lots of figs, lots of acidity, light bitter finish. Not my favorite from them, but it’s tasty.

2014 Project. Lactic sour. Has a bit of of the metallic I sometimes get from kettle sours. An assortment of fruits, reminds me of apricot (I know its not in there), lemon zest.
