1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 duff (5483) - St, Margarets, - NOV 16, 2002
UPDATED: MAR 26, 2004 Well says on the label its a "crisp and zesty wheatbeer", well its a touch crisp, but not particularly zesty or wheat-beerish. Uninteresting aroma, some sweet malty aromas, myabe some hops. Palate is lihgt-sweet, finishing dry, lightly crisp, lightly bitter, lightly malty, lightly hoppy, uninteresting, and too clean tasting, nothin much happening, OK balance i suppose, but a bit of a joke, especially at $15 AUS as 4 pack!!! Re:rate: just sweet crap in the end, but i guess its drinkable original rating-1.6
0.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 strappa (55) - Hobart, AUSTRALIA - JUL 6, 2005

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 DuffMan (4423) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 2, 2005
To me this displayed none of the charaacterisitics that I associate with a wheat beer, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Poured crystal clear amber gold with a nice head that flattened into a lacy ring for the duration. I found no citrus or fruit characters at all in the aroma, only wet vegetation and malt. The palate is a nicely rounded light malt, slightly sweet, with grassy hops a pleasantly noticable presence. A great summer golden ale, but not a wheat beer in my books.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 10, 2005
Bottled. Straw colur, clear, near no head. Grapefruity cascade hop aroma. Sweet and orangey with rounded mouthfeel and light wheat malt character. The hope contribute more to aroma than bitterness. I find this beer pretty pleasant, and well balanced as far as summer beers go.
1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 highlandlad (1325) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - JAN 26, 2005
Lightweight seasonal wheat beer. It pours a light lemon colour with a fleeting head. Very fizzy-looking. Odd, uninviting nose with some sour uric notes. A light, effervescent champagne-like body that ultimately feels insubstantial. Some citric notes and barely-there hoppiness. Essentially characterless, with none of the flavour and body of a good European wheat beer. One of the weaker links in the ’Four Seasons’ range. (2003, bottle)
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 ALLOVATE (1708) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - JAN 22, 2005
Tasted from the bottle. Poured a crystal clear, pale straw body with big odd bubbles that failed to form a head ( had minimal lacing ). No aroma, like trying to scent aroma from an Evian bottle! Light bodied inside, slightly acrid sour notes, citric cordial flavours and orange & lemon peel hints on the palate. Not at all a wheat beer and let alone flavoursome, nothing more than another forgettable macro-brewed ’Aussie’ beer!!!
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Muggus (193) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - DEC 10, 2004
Light citrusy hops and malt nose, pours golden with foamy white head. Light malt body with a bit of hoppiness. Apparently this is suppose to be a wheat beer? Nothing outstanding at all really.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Aarleks (408) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - DEC 8, 2004
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2005 Bottle: Clear light gold with a foamy white head. Cittrussy and grassy aroma, some melon and background malts (faint though). Hop dominant flavour but a little weak. Also very noticable sulphur flavours in the beginning. Soft carbonation and light bitterness. Nice enough, but bland (summer seems to mean bland in Australian beer language).
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 SimonLarsen (210) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - DEC 5, 2004
Clear, light and fruity. Small head no lacing, long bitterness. No noticeable aroma. Very cold though. Too thirsty for it to warm up.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 IJT (40) - Carterton, ENGLAND - NOV 14, 2004
A very nice light wheat beer that is perfectly suited to a hot Australian afternoon. The hops aroma is crisp and refreshing, as is the light taste of wheat. When it’s 40° outside and the beer’s 4°, it’s perfect.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 mullet (849) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 25, 2004
I can only assume that what this brewery is trying to tell me is that in summer people like to drink beer that has no flavour. Boring as hell, but without fault. Slight sweetness is the only distinguising feature. Drinkable yes, interesting hell no.
