A one-off seasonal from the brewery, this rich, full-bodied Porter is fresh-hopped with over six lbs per barrel of Nugget hops from the Weathers Family hop farm. The sweet, dark chocolate malt profile is balanced with a dank hop bite from the fresh hops. This beer is limited.

Draft at 16 Tons Cafe, Eugene. We all know Cascade’s fantastic sours, this was a different tack for them. Lots of tan head, color is an opalescent brown. Subtle funk and floral aroma, with some toasty elements as well. Hops were barely there, seems kind of a waste. A pretty good porter but a mediocre fresh hop beer.

On tap at the Barrel House. Pours a dark brown color with a medium beige head. A big chocolate nose, some fresh pine hops. The flavor is malty, bready base, chocolate, a bit of fruity citrus hops, pine. Like a hopped up Brown Ale. Good.

Dark brown in color, thin tan head. Nice hops and good chocolate flavor. The boys at Cascade have done a great job with this beer.

Tap at Cascade, Portland - 07/11/12 @ 5.7% ABV. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head that soon clears to the edges. Nose is light vegetal tones, roast malt, molasses, touch of coffee. Taste follows nose, roast malt flavour, hops, toffee. Medium bidued with light carbonation leading to a dry and roasty finish.

On tap at the Pine Box. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a tan milky head leaving perfect concentric lacing. Lovely. Aroma has milk chocolate, coffee, oatmeal. Taste is of sweet chocolate, some roasted malt. Not getting "hoppiness" unless I look for it, and then perhaps hints of hops. Finishes smoothly chocolate and chocolate/roasty bittersweet. Nice porter, possibly a bit thin, with good flavor, but don’t suggest hops to me.

Tap @ Cascade Barrel House... Near black poor with a thick, off-white head. Floral and resinous with hops tones. Slight roast, lots of grains, herbal spiciness, grass, charred woody characters. Sugar, cookie-dough, and roast came back in the finish.

On tap at Cascade Tasting Room, split with Matts_Property, pours a dark brown with a pronounced red tinge and small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, fresh hops and roasted malt. Flavour is more muted, with chocolate, roasted malt and a slight hop presence - kind of watery and thin on the palate. Good.

Draft at special brews. Pours black with a dense and creamy tan head. Loose sheety rings of lace. Nice roasty coffee and chocolate nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Roasty chocolate and coffee mid palate with a rich roasty finish. Great porter.
