A: The beer pours a hazy golden straw color with a finger of white head.
S: The nose starts off with some yeast and a fair amount of wine and oak. There is a light tartness with some definite funk. A touch of grass and lemon peel, maybe a little bit of fruit/citrus.
T: Lightly tart with some lemon and other citrus. There is a bit of wine and oak and a bit more lemon peel. There is just a very mild vinegar note on the finish. Throughout the beer there seems to be an underlying funk to it.
M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation.
O: The flavor and aroma were decently complex and overall just quite enjoyable.

On tap. Pours with a clear golden hue with some amazing lace from the white head. Quite an interesting aroma, quite phenolic, spicy, wood notes. Nearly and apple brandy character. Sharp wood, pepper, wine and funk. Flavors are quite funky as well, sharp, tannic, oak. Really sharp lactic notes. Medium bubbles, quite dry.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1698) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 3, 2011
On tap in Nov 2010. Bright yellow gold and hazy brew with a thick white cap and 360 degrees of mess. Smells great - light apricot, sourness, weak funk, citruses and soft melon. Light sour taste with more apricots, salt, yeast, weak pepper, light grass and comes across chewy. Man, old reviews from notes can suck!

Tap at Cascade Barrel House. Butterscotch colored pour with a white head and light lacing. Smells of white grapes, yeast, lemon, peach. Tastes of yeast, lemon, grapes, a nice puckering taste followed by a crisp, light finish. Good beer.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy gold color with a white, lacey head. Tangy vinous and sour aroma with some stone fruit, bright and peachy. The flavor is light and refreshing but decently sour and tangy. Nice balance with lemon and other fruit adding to a light spice. Light with ample carbonation. A really nice tangy farmhouse ale, with great fruitiness and just a touch of vinous barrel character to round things out. I could drink a lot of this stuff.

Half pint on tap at the brewpub. Bretty-lacto tart aromas with some fruity aromas present initially. A little barnyard is also present. Nice funkiness. Scantly hazy dark golden body with a fine whtie head that is small, but leaves good lacing. Really smooth tart, estery, floral funk flavors to start. Has a little sweet character in the middle with nice malts present. Finishes with a nice floral, fruity, funkiness. Very well balanced and extremely drinkable.

[2952-20100626] Tap. Something like a sour yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, medium orange body with a quick foamy white head. Sour apple juice flavour has a long-lasting aftertaste. Medium body. Interesting to try, odd tang.
