On tap at Raccoon Lodge. Some bitterness throughout with mild citrus and Pine flavors. Well balanced with a malty sweetness in the background. Smooth finish, but no kick. Not a weak brew, just not very strong fo an India Pale Ale.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - AUG 8, 2010
Draught at the brewpub. Gold with a lasting white head. Piney, citrus, and lightly tropical hoppy aroma with high intensity. Some richer bready malt in the flavor with a medium light sweetness. Bitterness is medium-high and hop flavor is floral and fruity. It’s ample but not distinct. Medium-light body. A solid drinkable IPA that leans a little more on the sessionable side than huge hop-bomb side.
