4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 rederic (2271) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 17, 2011
750ml, 2010 bottling, dark murky amber-copper hue, with a fluffy beige head, nice musty, sour cherry oaky, woody, iron-like, tart nose, with a light balsamic vinegar, yeasty funk note, with a hint of tannic wineyness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a musty acidic, good sour fruity cherry, lactobasillus yeast funkiness, tart, wet oaky character, with some faint tannic woodyness favours, and a subtle toasted, caramel malt undertone, leading towards a tart, acidic, cherry sourness finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Westmeister (464) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 14, 2011
Bottle shared by Kiefer. Pours a murky brown with heavy sediment and minimal head. Smell is cherries, woody, earthy and a hint of Playdough. Taste is very, very tart. Big cherry finish with some earthy notes from the wood. To be honest (and I haven’t tried many), but this is the first sour that I have enjoyed. And as this one warmed it got better and better. Very nice.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mcberko (2196) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 13, 2011
On tap at Cascade Tasting Room, split with Matts_Property, pours a cloudy orangey red with a big beige head. Aroma of tart cherries, currant and cinnamon. Flavour of cinnamon, tart cherries, black currant and worcestershire sauce. Finishes citric tart and spicy. Decent.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Strykzone (2906) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - OCT 19, 2011
Sampled at an esbls tadting. Hazy and dark brown. A thin off white head. A lot of sweetness in the aroma along with cherries. Oh my is this tart. Cherries emerge from the tartness. Complexity might be there but who knows. Throw in a bit of spice.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 obguthr (2385) - Poquoson, Virginia, USA - OCT 16, 2011
Nice oaky sour cherry aroma with musty woody accents. Hazy rust, thin yellow head. Powerfully tart, less woody, with a near exclusive sour cherry flavor. A brief lactic appearance in the finish. Very well crafted and executed, if not a bit overboard with the sourness.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 callmemickey (710) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 2, 2011
2009.
A: Medium brown-red body. Some transparency along the edges when held to the light. Thin pinkish-cream colored head. Quickly fizzles out leaving behind a spotty skim and not much lacing.
S: Pretty much just a blast of tart cherries, vinegar, and oak. Not much in the way of depth... pleasant none the less.
T: Tart and sour cherry notes dominate from the beginning. Vinegar and oak pop in and out particularly as the beer warms.
M: Medium carbonation. A bit thin towards the back end. Massive tart finish.
O: A decent brew, but there are better Flanders Reds out there and if I want cherries I’ll take a real Kriek.
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 BrewBoxer (775) - Brooklyn, USA - SEP 18, 2011

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 rmalloy (199) - los angeles, California, USA - SEP 14, 2011
This is a good beer. Aggressively sour and wild. Hollow on the midpalate. Feels thin, which makes the beer refreshing but not all that interesting.
