Tap. 2013 vintage.
A: Brownish red with light red hints. Off white head.
N: Lactic acid, oak, cherry, wine grapes. It says a hint of cinnamon on the menu, but I think they added a jar. Green pepper. What the hell?
T: Slightly sour with more of that terrible, terrible cinnamon.
M: Oily. On the heavier side where it concerns the body.
O: What happened here? Not that I’ve ever been a fan of the Kriek, but c’mon - sweet and spicy go together. Sour and spicy do not.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Corked and caged bottle from Gator Beverage. Poured deep dark red into my tulip with a tall, fizzy pink head that quickly recedes. The head ends up lingering as a very small creamy bubble film on top that is really interesting. Lots of sour cherries on the aroma with some vinegar there, and dry oakiness. Flavor is super sour cherries, with a light vinegar note that is balanced out by the super dry oak flavors. Really nice Kriek that highlights the cherries without being medicinal. Miles better than the Blueberry mess I had last night. Good beer!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (750ml): Slight haze, deep red brown color with no head or lace. Clean sour aroma with strong lactic edge and low level Brett. Dry, very sour palate with moderate phenolics.
Classic sour Flanders beer. It’s extreme but not unpleasant. Citrus flavors. Pretty balanced but certainly an extremely sour version.

Bottle. Thin light tan head, dark cherry wood brown that’s got ruby highlights. Bright ripe sour fruits, cherry, strawberry, wood, some vinegar and tart aromas. Flavor is quite tart, unripe cherries, some slight fruity sweetness, berry sharp tartness. Medium and very dry. Lovely for the style.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
2012 vintage. Pours a very murky black cherry color with a huge head. Aromas of funky fruit, sour nightmares. Taste is lactic sourness all the way, accompanied by more sour. Flavors of sour cherry, raspberry yogurt. Finishes with a very sour cherry blast. This is very good.
