Winter Seasonal. Brewed with 4 types of cherries, aged in oak for one year.
Cascade Kriek Ale spends over 6 months of lactic fermentation and aging in small oak barrels. This "Belgian Flanders Style Red Ale" is refermented with a blend of fresh whole Northwest cherries and then hand bottled. Cascade Kriek Ale is bottle fermented and should be refrigerated or stored at cellar temp and served at 45 to 50 degrees.

2010 bottling. Pours pretty orange-red amber, small ring of bubbles. Aroma has held up well and is maybe my favorite part of this beer: dry sour cherry, oak, light red wine, orange, though also has some slightly volatile chemical notes. Taste is sour pie cherry and preserved lemon, lemon juice, some sweet malts too. Very nice.

On tap at the brewpub - Pours brown with a light bit of purple and an off-white head. The aroma has heavy cherries, spice, cinnamon, rich berries, red grapes and mild oak. It has a medium rich body with light mild carbonation. The flavor starts out with rich cherries, berries, pleasing tartness and wine barrel. It is quite dry and spicy. The finish has heavy wine barrels and oak along with cherries and phenolic spice. Really solid.

Not enjoying sours. Novelty of this has worn off. Champagne? Yuck. Had this on draft at cascade brewery in Portland.

Shared with Zach on a rainy Sunday afternoon, pours a red color with a small head. Nose is cherry, sour and tart with oaky notes. Taste is fruity, with huge Brett and delicious mouth puckering tartness and sourness. Finish is tart sour cherry and moderately long. A great sour! ! Quaff Score 8 / 10

Bomber. Pours a cloudy red amber with a beige head and tart cherry and oaky aroma. Taste is strong tart and sour up front, lots of sweet, tart cherry with fruits and oak notes leading to a sour finish.

Khyber Pass sour event. Comparing a 2009 vintage to the 2014. Notable difference on color. The new one is bright dark red while the 2009 is a much cloudier orange copper. Both are very tart sours. 2009 feels even more sour than the 2014. Big cherry flavors. The fresher version feels smoother and fruitier. The older version is more bracing. GREAT cherry sour!

Bottle shared at my place with great friends. Small snifter. Pours a reddish brown with minimal head and lacing. The stark aroma hits you with super sour cherries and some wood barrel. The taste is amazing with the cherry tartness hitting quickly, followed by the wooden barrel and other fruits. Finish is somewhat dry and tart, The balance and blend of the cherry flavors, the tartness, and the barrel are simply amazing.
