Draft at Cascade Barrel House in Portland, OR on 29 May 2013. Poured a pinkish hue with a thin white head. Pleasant balance of fruity aromas with some acidity and sourness. Definite cherry flavours, but not synthetic. Nice moderate sour flavours.

1012 Project, 7.2% abv. It pours a cloudy reddish brown, has a small head of foam but does a good job with the lacing. The nose is big with lots of sour cherry goodness and a strong oak presence. I could sit and sniff for quite a long time if I wanted to. Glorious sour cherry flavour up front mixed in with a vinegar like sourness and an in the somewhat background taste what oak barrel aging brings. It is beers from Cascade like this that bring me back to their online page to order again and again. Nice combo of carbonation and body makes it eminently mouth pleasing. Another great brew from Cascade. Big surprise there..

Bottle, shared by Jason. Pours a murky reddish-orange with almost no head. Aroma is sour cherries, barnyard, oak, and lemons. Taste is dominated by sour cherries with light vinegar and oak. Moderate tart finish, fairly dry. Solid sour beer.

3 ounce sample at The Davis Beer Shoppe. 2012 vintage. Aroma has some barnyard funk. Light underlying cherry notes. Mild sweetness, too. Nice. Mostly hazy amber body with a creamy, strong off-white head present. Starts with strong acidity and sour notes. Becomes a little cherry-like in the middle with light roast and sweetness. Dry finish. Nicely balanced.

Taster at DBS. Strong red color, with a light cherry aroma. Strong cherry flavor up front, but the flavor quickly fades away to sour funk. Decent brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good balance, not a ton of cherry, but that works in a brown. Cherry is present in the nose and a bit in the palate and it’s more drinkable than some of their other sours which can be VERY tart. I like very tart, but I also liked this.

Had on draft at the Cascade Barrel House. The cherries do not take the front stage, but they are well balanced with the soured beer. A nice sour with bright acidity.
