2011 vintage consumed on 11/22/13. From the second the bottle opens a wonderful aroma of sour cherries greets the nose. Color is a brightish red. The flavor is an incredibly bright sour with the cherries coming through magnificently without any of the Brett notes than can sometimes overwealm a lesser sour. As perfect an example of a Kriek that there is.

Caoba oscuro y espuma canela ligera. Aromas limpios de cereza y frutos rojos. Cuerpo medio, fruta roja sobrepasada por una acidez punzante y final seco.

750ml 2013 bottle pours cloudy dark brown red with small head. Nose is acidic, wet earth, cherry, cola, vinegar, light wet forest funk. Taste is high acidity, earthy, wet ground, damp wood, flemish-red character, cherry and dark tart berry. Not much complexity. Finishes sour, cherry red vinegarette, wet ground, subtle oak vanilla, toast. Fine but simplistic.

Bottle. Reddish brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is tart cherries. Taste is much the same, quite sour for a kriek but very tasty.

750ml corked bottle pours a reddish brown color with a finger of pinkish head that retains well and leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is cherries and funk. Taste is very sour with a cherry tartness and fruity sweetness. Light to medium bodied with abundant carbonation. Overall, this is one big sour beast, just like sucking on a whole lemon per sip.

Nice slightly bubbly mediumlasting head. Aroma is rich and sour-ish dry, lots of cherries, oak, berry skin, sorrel, soda powder, mild vinegar, minerals, hints of thinner. Taste is sour-ish dry, berry skin, sour cherries, oak, sorrel, minerals, raw rhubarb, cherry stones. Medium bitterness, dry acidic mouthfeel. Very nice.

Poured into a plastic cup showing dark copper, translucent rims, and an opaque center. The nose shows a very strong oak background with notes of bing cherries. The palate is highly carbonated and full bodied. Strong oak background on the palate with big flavors of sour cherries. A light to moderately intense grassiness appears on the finish and the linger. Personally for my tastes there’s a bit too much oak that does not harmonize with the fruit flavors.
