This is a good beer. Aggressively sour and wild. Hollow on the midpalate. Feels thin, which makes the beer refreshing but not all that interesting.

Tap. Deep ruby color with tan head. Aroma is cherry, a bit spicy. Taste is cherry skin. Medium carbonation. Dry tart finish. Interesting spices. Very nice, Cascade really pulls off Sour Fruit Beers without just copying the Belgian character.

On tap at Borefts 2016. Deep amber red colour lasting beige head. Intense aroma of real sour cherries. Sour flavour but well balanced and not forced. Only slight lactic. Good sour cherry flavour which gets more intense. Excellent sour cherry beer. Touch of balsamic vinegar. Delicious.

750ml->tulip from Dominion. Purply brown with faint ecru head. Kinda ugly. A: very acidic cherry juice, yeast, apples. T: acidic tart cherries, vinegar, apples, grains. Ok, but too acidic overall.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a dark brown color with a quickly dissipating finger’s worth of white foamy head. No lacing. The smell had some big sweet to sour cherries up front with a dry woodiness underneath. The flavor takes the sour to the sweet to the tart and brings it around into the woodiness. Light dry to wet cherry to woody aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fantastic sipping to sessionable quality about it. Carbonation seems to run nice and fairly low. Tartness really hits in the feel, long sour harshness feels good. Overall, what a wonderful American wild ale as that’s what I see. I don’t see this much as a flanders, but hey just really good stuff.
