Clear ruby color with a thin white head ring, skanky malt nose, slight bitter finish, thin mouthfeel, buttery, malts are off a little, dry, heady label.

Visited the brew pub in Bend, OR. Pours reddish brown with small white head. Slight malt, some sweetness, but otherwise seems bland and thin to me.

Poured reddish brown with minimal head and some lacings. Sweet aroma, brown sugar. Taste is sweet malts, brown sugar, toasty. Hops are a minor player but nicely bitter. Good dry finish. Overall pretty good example of the type. Will try a draft version sometime.

On tap at Famous Dave's. Nice and cold on a warm Portland day. Pours rich amber brown with small head. Malty and sweet, with a tiny amount of bitterness on the back end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a cloudy brown with very little head and no lacing. Scent is very faint earthy almond (?) and malt. Flavor is weak and malty without much balance, but Brown’s aren’t known for balance. Palate is rather flat. Maybe it’s the screw-top bottle that didn’t hold in the carbonation, but there’s just not much to this. Overall, take a huge pass on this one.

A brown body with an off white head. The aroma is hoppy with some malts. There is maly in the flavor with a bitterness from the hops that lingers. An unusual brown in my opinion and definite void of the nut or chocolate malt in the description.

IBU 35. Tasted in a frozen mug. As much copper in color as brown. Aroma is very mellow if not faint. No head to speak of. Light nutty flavor that fades into a pretty decent aftertaste. Not as smooth as, say, Newcastle Brown, but not very hoppy either. All in all, a satisfying brown ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is nice and rich. Color seems spot on, taste is good but nothing out of the ordinary. Middle of the road brown ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
