bhensonb (2832), Woodland, California, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle from Sondra. Amber color with a decent off-white head. Rich, lightly roasted, malt aroma. Medium in body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is roasty malty sweet, with a little accompanying bitter. The finish is sort of creamy sweet with a little backing bitter. Very pleasant and quaffable brown ale. Might be a good session ale. carboloader (300), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 4, 2008 Visited the brew pub in Bend, OR. Pours reddish brown with small white head. Slight malt, some sweetness, but otherwise seems bland and thin to me. spikester (390), Salem, Oregon, USA Apr 22, 2008 Poured reddish brown with minimal head and some lacings. Sweet aroma, brown sugar.
Taste is sweet malts, brown sugar, toasty. Hops are a minor player but nicely bitter. Good dry finish. Overall pretty good example of the type. Will try a draft version sometime.
Angeloregon (1823), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 4, 2008 From a 12oz. bottle--Poured a thin brown burnished body. Some sharp malts, but surprisingly more hoppy and floral than I expected. Very enjoyable beer!
