3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Aubrey (3192) - Bellingham, USA - MAY 1, 2011
Orange hue with a nice head. Soft on the tongue. Very juicy, but not overly aromatic, as far as hops are concerned. Lots of orange rind flavors, along with some lemon and other citrus fruits. Malts are a bit doughy and slightly caramel-like. Alcohol is warming. Bitterness is moderate but not stark. Decent beer, it just seems to lack some depth.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 baraciisch (606) - USA - JAN 16, 2012
Rated with Para.... Clear golden in color... Sweet, citrus hop aroma... Flavor is citrus hop bitterness with predominant sweet sugary palate... Not as dry or bitter as I come to expect from a West Coast IPA.... Pretty good beer....
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (7580) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 21, 2011
Bomber from Brewforia. Pours copper/amber with a light beige head. Aroma of caramel, floral and citrus. Med body with foamy carb. Flavor is floral, caramel, resin/citrus(I have this problem with those flavors). The finish is like a fine barley wine - almost brownsugar. But with a heck of a lot of hop. It’s just not NW burning/harsh bitter hop. This is very nice stuff, and I think it’s underrated. Trust me on that. IMG me if you disagree.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hayduke (2531) - Eureka, California, USA - AUG 8, 2011
This poured a golden color with a three finger off white and lots of lacing. Nose was caramel malts, citrus, flowers, and tropical fruit. Medium in body with a smooth mouthfeel. The flavor was a bit laid back and the 100 IBUs was not obtrusive. Finish was bitter and of citrus. A well crafted and quite tasty beer..
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Strykzone (3132) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - AUG 3, 2011
Thanks to Hayduke for sending this my way. We shared it via facebook chat. This poured a honey color with a small off white head. Stick lacing was thin. The nose was honey and tangerine. This was tasty and a pleasant surprise. I knew nothing about the brewery or the beer but certainly like this. Flavor was tangerine and pine hops. Perhaps a bit of flowers and some oranges. There was tangerine and caramel in the malt which was significant. This beer was borderline double. It was very tasty. I just looked at the other ratings and am thinking the recipe was amped up because this is good. Thanks Ron for this one.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (4104) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JUN 16, 2011
Bottle: Amberish, heavy on the orange, large frothy off-white head, nice lacing. Somewhat of an earthy/musty/soily hop aroma. Not your bright/fruity/floral variety. On the tongue it seems to have a bit more character. Lots of rind, decent hop backing, not as much soil/earthiness as the nose suggested. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Flavorful hop finish, could use a bit more sweetness to balance that rind thats there. Overall okay, otherwise ho hum.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jcr (1682) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - MAR 5, 2011
Bomber. Clear, deep golden body. Fizzy, white head, mostly diminishing. Muted aroma of citrus, bread, sweat with a hint of resin. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, watery body turning sticky, moderate carbonation. Citrus taste turns resiny with the lingering bitterness. But those tastes take a back seat to out-of-place tastes of medicine and dried plants. Imbalanced and off-putting.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 3fourths (6400) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 10, 2011
pale amber body, tight-stacked white head, soda pop-sized bubbles. foul nose of armpit, olive brine, egg shells and sweetened celery. thin body, drying finish, buzzing hop acid, pale, transparent, subdued green resin notes. sour coughdrop finish. wth.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 trevor211 (990) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 27, 2011
Pours a cloudy orange-amber, with a smallish head. Mellow citrus and pine hops on the nose, underlaid by a bit of a gym bag. Mouthfeel is nice. First few sips are a bit dilute, but with the lingering bitterness in the flavor, it gets a little fuzzier. Flavor is very good - the hops transition from citrus to more pine, and while it doesn’t seem like it’s all the way up at 100IBUs, it definitely does have a nice, lasting bitterness.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 cmonster (682) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 25, 2011
Bomber served in a tulip. Pours slightly hazy bright orange. Medium sized off-white head of average retention, but good lacing. Aroma of caramel malt and orange and grassy hops. Good bitter flavor followed by breadiness. Medium body, average carbonation, sticky texture, and a dry finish. Decently balanced, but something seems out of tune to me.
