2009 Bottle - Thanks scrizzz! - Pours a clear lt orange with a medium white head...aroma is sticky citrus, pine and plentiful caramel malt...flavour is oddly bitter, not very hoppy up front, almost waters, but the biting hop pucker settles in on the periphery of your mouth...seems thin beginning to end, but walks the line with a balance of flavour that keep things interesteing...

Bottle: Clear copper color with a small head and white ring around the edge. Carbonation seems pretty lively. Hoppy aroma but not huge, a little skunk, and wet grass. Flavor pretty well balanced. Hops up front with a maltier aftertaste than most IPA’s. I did notice a floral character in the flavor as well. Ok, I like a more in your face IPA than this.

5000 (4104) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 15, 2011
Bottle:   Vibrant straw, lively carbonation, large pillowy white head, nice lacing.   Looks tasty.   Pale citrus rind on the nose, subtle hops.   A little stale on the tongue, decent malt background, barnish, but the hop aspect is minor.   Decent body, fairly sticky mouthfeel.   Biting, but almost not in a hoppy sense.   Feels more of a Pale than an IPA.   Mild sweetness.   Quick finish.   Tiz okay, but overall a bit too light.

Sulfur in the aroma, reminds me a bit of a lager. Taste has some honey, floral, bitterness.

light hoppy and malt aroma. Pours a pale copper, nice foamy white head. Mid range hops, some alcohol in the finish. Light body.

SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - AUG 10, 2010
Draught at the brewhouse in Redmond. Dark gold to pale amber with a very stable head. The aroma is mostly dank, fruity, grapefruit peel hops that come off pretty fresh, but there is also an odd, unclean, alcoholic edge that muddles things a little. Resiny hop flavor quickly leads to a rough, astringently bitter finish that doesn’t really have and malt for balance. The body is thin and astringent, leaving an uncomfortable feeling. Bitterness needs to be scaled back significantly here.

Mix of citrus and skunky hops, though a definite pale malt presence, which continues in the flavor, hopes on the harsh side but not intensely so. Good weight in the mouth. Quite yellow with a foamy head that lasts and laces. Dry bitter finish.

Overly bitter with minimal aroma, tastes like a heavy bitter blond ale. 22oz bottle.

pours orange in color with a very thin white head. Smells of citrus and floral aroma. Undoubtedly not exceptional. The hops almost taste slightly stale. This batch may be nearing it’s prime

On draft at Belmont station. Pours golden with white head. Tastes like citrus, grapefruit, pine. Solid malt backbone with hoppiness.

22 oz bottle on the cheap from Market of Choice. Poured out a bright golden color with a small and thin white head. Aroma is a lot of biscuit malt with a splash of citrus hop. Flavor is a little more balanced, but still more malty than I prefer. Okay but not really good. Much lke most of this brewery’s output.
