COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you’ve visited Bend’s pub-centric Westside or rode the nearby trails, you’ve seen the Phoenix Rising. In the same creative and inventive spirit, we offer IRA. Inspired by the IPA category, this ale is high in hops and caramel flavors from Munich and crystal malts. Cheers to artists like Frank Boyden who’ve made Bend a bit more colorful. Grains: 2-Row, Munich, Crystal Hops: Warrior, Willamette, Cascade & German Tettnager Available: Jun 1 – Sept 1 Available seasonally in 12 oz bottles, draft

Bomber. Citrus with some malty sweetness in the background. Not very complex for an American Strong Ale. Finish is light bitterness and dry.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours hazy copper amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma of citrus and grass. Maybe some caramel. Full bodied. Flavor is light roast malt with a strong dose of citrus hop (with still some grass). It has a lot of presence. Finishes fruity and just a bit earthy. Fairly tasty ale.

22 oz bottle from Roth’s Vista Market in Salem. $3.99 Seems to be a little old Clear amber body to the ale, nice thick and creamy eggshell white coloured head. Good spicy/grapefruit aromas, caramel malts to the fore. Very balanced taste of caramel and spicy hop..little chocolate and nut also. Palate is nice, its low carbonated and smooth though semi dry at the very end. Actually not a bad beer..simple but i dig it.

hazy red/orange. an awkward nose of dusty hop and slightly metallic malt. in the mouth it is smooth, balanced, peppery, caramelly and with a nice hop bite in the finish. this could be a pretty good session beer I reckon. Need a pint of it though.

Clear burnt orange color with rich ivory head. Spicy caramel, floral, mild pine aromas. medium body, average carbonation. Floral, tea leaf hoppy bitter flavors with dry toasted caramel--drying finish--not bad.

Portland, Or - John’s Marketplace - 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly murky dark orange with a thin and bubbly off white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma of fruit salad with a touch of spruce. Hearty flavor with some toffee notes, a touch of black coffee, some bitter citrus, overall, very rough and earthy...in a good way. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky.

12 oz bottle from New Seasons - Poured cloudy red with zero head. I even poured it straight down the middle of the glass. It looks like a beer that has been sitting around for a few hours. Strong caramel aromas. Sweet flavor. Hops kind of got overpowered by the malt. Meh.
