Bottle: The aroma consists of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and faint black coffee. It pours a dark brown with a small soapy beige head that leaves behind spotty lacing. The flavor starts with starts with some watery black chocolate. The finish has light roasted nuts and faint coffee. Light bodied with mild carbonation and a thin mouhfeel. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 26, 2009 The good: deep roasty notes in the flavor. Almost smoky. Lots of carbon, which is always a good thing in a porter. The bad: Metallic taste on the finish. phishpond417 (2005), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Cocoa, coffee and burnt toast and smoke on the nose. Equal in flavour also. Toasty and chocolatey with some breadiness on the palate. Beautiful colour, kind of muddy and monkey like with some shit floating around. Great beer overall. Non stop beauty from all these awesome beers. Skyview (4167), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Received a single bottle from two trades from the Northwest states. Sampled from 12-oz bottle, pours a near opaque dark brown brew with a creamy light tan head that has some excellent lacing and good retention. Aroma of toasted black malt, dark chocolate, some flowery hops and a touch of sweet coffee. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with a good balance of toasted malt and hop bitterness. Finish has a mostly dark roasted malt flavor with just a touch of hop bitterness. neepsntatties (403), Portland, Oregon, USA

Deep roasted flavours, quite robust. Had a memorable edge to it. Was a little more hoppy in the finish if i recall and had a great chocolate bitterness to it. Me like. fakepurseninja (804), Washington, USA
