Draught @ Bier Stein, Eugene
Dull light beige colour. The aroma is hoppy - pineapple, hay, mango and lemongrass. Cool. A fairly sweet kiss of pale malt is there but also a noted honey accent. Tropical fruity hop with a slight grapefruity bitter backbone.

Draft at the Lodge in Bend. Sharp hop bite throughout, with a sweet pine start that turns quickly to a musty wood and bread. Spicy hop nose... close to being an IPA... light orange color, almost gold/yellow. Body is light and fluffy.

This pale ale pours an orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is herbal and floral hops, some lemongrass as well. A medium to lighter bodied American Pale Ale. Malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. Hops are floral and a touch citrusy. Nice balance. Nice orange citrusy highlights. Nice drinking APA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 5000 (4104) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 5, 2007
Bottle: Orangish straw, soft haze, moderate frothy white head, fairly nice lacing, mild carbonation.   Soft straw on the nose,
very slight mildew.   Raw straw on the tongue.   Very little hop profile.   Seems like more of a robust pilsner than an American
Pale Ale.   Cereal like finish, mild sweetness, a bit raw but drinkable.   Hop it up a bit to cover up the flaws and then we’re
talking.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Overall, just not big enough.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 DarkElf (2961) - La Jolla, California, USA - SEP 3, 2005
(12 oz bottle: Newport Avenue Market in Redmond, OR) Fruity, lightly spicy and sour nose is only mildly aromatic, but the sourness, which seems sour but not citrusy sour, is a big drawback. And unfortunately, that sourness is a big element of the flavor a bit, though it does seem to be fairly citrusy, so it’s not necessarily a negative factor. Otherwise, it’s a fairly fruity pale ale, with a fairly light pale malt backbone, and a mildly bitter hops for balance. Light bodied, fairly clean and crisp. Very hazy golden color. The white head shows solid retention, gradually receding to and holding a full, but thin layer. Lacing is modest, with bits and pieces here and there. Just too much sour citrus in this brew, and though this bottle was just recently purchased, I can’t be sure if it’s fresh.
