boFNjackson (482), Portland, Oregon, USA May 2, 2008 Bottle... Poured a pale gold with a thin white head. Aroma was terrible, smelt like hops and a public bathroom. Flavors of citrus hops and sorta like styrofoam malt. Not a big fan of this one. I don’t get why there are so many boring golden ales out there.
carboloader (270), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 4, 2008 Visited the Brewpub in Bend, OR. Pours golden yellow with white head. Pretty plain, weak, bland, but easy to drink. Entirely unoffensive with nothing that stands out. bhensonb (2730), Woodland, California, USA Jun 18, 2008 Bottle. Aromas, very light, of pale malt and citrus? hop. Brassy gold color with a head that went so fast I didn’t notice the color. Medium, almost, body with lightly fizzy carbonation. It’s a bit caramel biscuit with some hop, but not much. This stuff is so light it’s probably balanced. Actually the flavor improves with a few swallows; the bitter builds a bit; maybe this is the crisp finish advertised. Could be a session ale. spikester (364), Salem, Oregon, USA Jan 17, 2008 I bought a single at a local grocery store it was the only one left and I had enjoyed a Cascade Lakes "Blonde Bombshell" in a bottle on another occasion. Looks, pours, and tastes fine. The only downside is that is a bit bland. This would be a nice step up from macros and I will try it on tap next time I’m in the Bend / Redmond area. Well recommended if you like the lighter side of craft brewing. Very drinkable. Harder to find than most domestic beers. SuzyGreenberg (799), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 14, 2008 sampled @ cascade lodge (bend) - clear gold with slight white head around the edges; mild aromas of wheat and malts; drinks crisp, clean and smooth; slight sweetness in the flavors
