COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rooster Tail Ale is the flagship beer of Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. First brewed on the system in Redmond in December 1994, this light bodied, golden style ale has become a Central Oregon favorite. A malty aroma, carmely crisp flavor and a crisp finish makes this the perfect beer for all seasons!

I bought a single at a local grocery store it was the only one left and I had enjoyed a Cascade Lakes "Blonde Bombshell" in a bottle on another occasion. Looks, pours, and tastes fine. The only downside is that is a bit bland. This would be a nice step up from macros and I will try it on tap next time I’m in the Bend / Redmond area. Well recommended if you like the lighter side of craft brewing. Very drinkable. Harder to find than most domestic beers.

355ml bottle pours pale golden color with a small white head that leaves very little lacing. Aroma is light malts and hops. Taste is malty sweet with a moderate hop bitterness. Light body and soft carbonation. A decent blonde ale, but nothing memorable.

Rooster Tail Ale’s label shows a man surfing an ocean wave. Is a Rooster Tail a surfing term? And if so, why is a central Oregon brewery putting a surfer dude on their label? Redmond Oregon is two mountain ranges, one river valley, two national forests, and 200 miles from the ocean. P.S. The beer is good.

Draught at the brewhouse in Redmond. Slightly darker color that the blonde. lasting lace. Some bready, nutty malt in the aroma. Malt flavors are nutty and bready with a touch of caramel and mild earthy spice and bitterness from the hops. Heavier than the blonde but similar overall, but not as drinkable.

Thanks buddy for bringing this back home- deep golden colour, slightly orange. Mega malt on the nose, some carmel. Big hops- a bit unabalanced- apple and bready notes near the finito. I must be missing somethign with this beer.

Ugh- another stinker. Sweet corn grain, thin and metallic with a skunky veggie character.

12 oz bottle. Clear gold pour with a thin white head. Aroma of light citrus and caramel malt, some light sugar. Flavor too sweet with grain and light citrus. Bland and not full of much flavor, too thin by half.

Not a very good brew for craft, and not much to say other than it was watered down and was slighty sweet.
