Bottle from Brewforia (pretty sure!). Pours dark ruddy copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma of bread and perhaps cocoa. It’s certainly a darker breadiness. Med body. Flavor is bready and I do think chocolate. But there’s something that suggests diacetyl, but I don’t think that’s it. It’s pretty balanced, and it’s pretty tasty - it just has something that suggests xmas brew. Worth drinking.

Bottle:   Garnet colored, moderate to large frothy sandy head, very nice lacing.   Very soft bistuity malt like nose.   Smidgen of whole wheat bread like grains.   Smooth on the tongue, yet not heavy.   Nice malt base, fairly biscuity without being cloying.   Very clean overall.   For a style that I am not too keen on, this one I am really enjoying.   Wow, yeah, very clean and crisp.   Never thought I would say this, but very refreshing for an English Strong Ale.   Moderate body, smooth almost velvety mouthfeel.   A touch of warming on the backside. &nbps Seems pretty simple, yet very well put together.   Very slight hint of some medicinal alcohol at the exit, but its minor.   This is one biscuity yet not cloying ESA.   I like it!

Bottela. Clear brown color with fleeting tan head. Nutty, caramel, dust aromas. Medium bodied. Nutty, mild chocolate flavors with earthy dirt, and caramel___smooth finish---not bad.

12 ounce bottle from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. This beer is deep amber and has just a little beige ring. The aroma is malty, chocolatey, and syrupy. The first sip brings a lot of grain. Citrus hops add some brightness and zest. Light notes of nuts and syrup. Late I get pine and some kind of spice. Dark fruit and then chocolate syrup in the finish. An interesting beer. It went trough a few style changes and that was fun.

On tap at Bend pub. Pours out a pale crisp copper topped with a white head. Nose is cardboard grass and sweetness. Taste is as the nose but with a good caramel sweetness.

Tap @ The BeerMongers during Brewpublic’s Killer Beers of Central Oregon event... Poured clear amber/reddish with an off-white head. Nose had some diacetyl, I would blame the lines but I know The BeerMongers keep them clean. Malty, sweet biscuits, with some yeast esters and some popcorn characters in the finish.

A bottle from Yamaichi via rakuten. I guess the low marks had me not expecting so much so I was pleasently surprised when I pour a wonderful reddish brown beer with a weak head. It has a great malty aroma of caramel & toffee. The flavor is really nice, it starts off with sweet flavors from the malts: toffee, caramel, figs, etc. It’s then followed by a dry hoppy finish but the pine flavor of Cascades is really muted. All in all I really like this beer!

Amber colored, with rocky beige head. Toasted amber and chocolate malt nose, quite nice. Flavor is similarly toasted amber malt, with nibbets of chocolate mixed in. Easy sipper that seems closer to 5.5% than 6.9% ABV. This is a solid toasted amber brew.
