1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 mutant (854) - Melbourne, - OCT 18, 2002
Very yellow & quite sweet. Little bitterness in the finish. IMHO not a Pale Ale just a slight variation on their lager.

Bottle 330ml. Pretty boring. Aromas of citrus, hay, and band-aid. Taste is sweet, with average bitterness, and short length. Palate is thin and watery. Yellow, with a head that doesn’t last.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 floydian1 (538) - FNQ, AUSTRALIA - OCT 22, 2011
Bottle. Another one of the Cascade beers that is only available in Tasmania. Golden body with a small white head. Aroma and flavour is sweet grainy malts with a subtle citrus hop finish. Clean palate with a medium body and carbonation. Better than most Aussie macro lagers but that’s not saying much.

I get torn between whether this beer is great or whether it is simply ordinary. Today I purchased a six pack for the first time in a number of years and yes it went down well but is it a Pale Ale I’m not so sure...
Worth a taste if you are looking for a lagerish style.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Davros (1021) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 4, 2011
Pours amber with a small quickly fading head.
Nose shows grainy malt with a hint of spicy hops. Very light on.
Flavours show some grainy malt with slight sweetness before a very dry metallic bitter finish (POR?).
Body feels very watery, carbonation is pretty high.

On tap, golden pour with no foam, dry fruit aroma with flavors of malty metallic,
bread, finish is short

How can a pale ale taste so shite? Oh right just get these guys to brew their lager with a different yeast and voila - a shite pale.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 bman1986 (173) - Broadstairs, Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 11, 2010
UPDATED: JUL 31, 2010 Light, golden coloured (looks much like a lager). Subtle citrus aroma and the flavour is once again citrus with a little hop and malt. Perfectly drinkable and certainly better than the average aussie beer.
2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hawthorne00 (1436) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - FEB 9, 2010
It’s been 15 years since I had this: when young and poor I drank it all the time as it was the same price as VB and other truly awful beers. Then they priced it alongside decent Euro lagers and I stopped. Anyway: Bottle. Pours gold, modest white head. Some lacing. Mild aroma of malt, hay and citrus. Moderately sweet malts with decent bitterness for the style. Dry, vaguely citric finish with some salt. Still better than other Australian macros and still an OK beer on a hot night.

Bottle. Pours with a large white head a light amber body. Smells of subtle citrus. Balanced with a subdued citrus taste. nothing special here. A quaffer on a 40 degree day.
