COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer shares a name with Peter Bouclaert, a friend and fellow sour beer appreciator. This is our inflection of a beer he used to make. This red ale was aged in oak barrels with cherries 12 to 18 months.

A: Was extremely happy to be amongst the first to sample this at Parkway Tavern-Cascade night in January 2012. Poured a deep red color with crimson hues and a nice white cap S: You can smell and even feel the acidity on this. Loads of cherries and Earthiness. T: Big, immediate tartness with sharp acidicty and some unripened cherries, red cherries and a a light addage of a random dark cherry. Big lacto, vinegar and sweetness with some wood and Earthy notes. M: Medium body, well carbonated and tart as hell O: If Cascade wanted to create a lockjaw capable brew then they succeeded. Perhaps one of the most acidic and tart Sours by these guys yet.

Pours a deep hazy ruby with a ring of a head. Character is cherry, cranberry, raspberry, barrely funk, and a super tart finish not betrayed by the berry-heavy nose.

Red pour with a light white head. Aroma of funky wood cherries. Taste is very sweet and tart up front which turns to a peppercorn like taste that falls into a vinegar finish. Great beer, an interesting sour with many fun peppery acidic notes. I just couldnt have more than one in a single sitting.

On tap at the Barrel House. Pours a dark red color with a medium white head. The aroma is rich woody and vinous notes, very big cherries. The flavor is awesome;heavy cherries, sweet and sour, big vinegar, huge tannins, vinous, grape skins. Awesome,my favorite of the night.

Taster. On tap at Cascade Brewing Barrel House. Heavy barnyard in the nose. Clear, bright ruby, cherry top, no head. Acid, vinegar, slight underlying touch of sweetness. Some spices, maybe cinnamon. Exceptional acid aftertaste. Light, medium body. Couldn’t be more astringent, really. Very dry. This is certainly a stomach cleanser or perhaps a soul scrubber of a beer.

On tap at City Beer. Pours reddish brown with a decent off-white head and a very sour fruity aroma. There is a vinous fruit flavor that is sort of vinegary and that sticks to the palate. The red ale rasp makes for an interesting sour beer.

Draft at NCBC. Pours a murky dark burgundy with virtually no head by the time the server got it to the table. Big sharp acidic cherry nose, very tart with plenty of sugar evident in the aromatics as well. Creamy medium body with bright and lively carb. Darkly tart and acidic bite to the mid-palate, showing plenty of cherry along with a bit of vinegary tang. Sharp clean finish. Very easy drinker for the abv.
