This live barrel of NW style sour ale is a one-off from the blenders, in which several beers and barrels were blended for effect. It’s very similar to a popular candy, but with a more pronounced pucker. Sweet tart fruit, candy and hints of sweet raspberries and grape notes are present in the nose. Tart flavors of raspberries, lemon peel and hints of cherries roll across the palate, leading to a dry, effervescent finish with lingering hints of sweet candy. This one is for the sour kid in all of us!

On draught at Cascade Barrel House. Fruit candy aroma. Lemon, cherry, Bourbon, and a lot of lactic funk in the flavor. Prickly finish.

On tap at Sourfest. Pours with a clearish medium amber hued body with a small tan head. Aromas are funky, fruity, mulberry, raspberry, zesty, light leather, acidic, tannic cherries. Flavors are tart and lemony, zesty, low barrel character, some berries, quite tart and very lemony. Lively bubbles, dry finish. Interesting beer.

Thanks to Dr. Bill for this pour at Woodshop 7. They certainly named this one correctly. Definitely reminiscent of those lovely cylindric powdered toothrotters. Beyond that there’s a sour lemonade background balanced by the fruity candied sweetness.

Taste from barrel at Stone sour ale fest 2012. Clear publish amber pour, with a minimal off white head. Tart berries, cherry, oak, candy sweetness, and sour lemon. Balanced candy sweet, and puckery sour. Good.

Was drinking 5 different samples of perfect beer @ the brewpub in March... almost pointless to describe a beer when the producers already do such a great job of it! That said, awesome beer.

On tap at the brewery. Light pink/ red color. Almost no head. Aroma is lactic sourness, some light fruit, grapefruit and a little sweetness. A lot if lactic on the mouthfeel. Some sweetness and light fruit. Maybe it was because if the name but I got a hint if the candy.

On tap at Cascade. A very interesting brew. The aroma is rich, and yes this smells like Pixie Sticks; candies, sour, woody. Very unique. The flavor is fruity, dry, vinous, rich candy. Very deep flavor profile. Good.

Taster from the barrel. Hazy orange-amber with a light froth. Candy sweet-sour aromatic in this one-off blender. Medium-full sour flavor. Fruit is srrawberries and cherries. Sour, dry finish.
