2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ComradeK (728) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2008
This is a reasonable beer, pale gold and well-carbonated, with a large head. However, it is not as flavoursome as other quality Australian beers, and is not quite worth the price.

A classy European style lager. Proves that the oldest brewery in Australia is still one of the best.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 12, 2008
(Bottle 37,5 cl) Pours a clear golden with a white head. Lightly sweet malt aroma with a whiff of aroma hops. Medium body with sweet malts and a touch of cardboard. Lightly hoppy finish. Getting a bit nostalgic here as this was my favourite brew when I visited Tasmania in 1988. But either my palate or the beer has changed since then - probably both. 210108

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 31, 2008
Bottle, a clear gold with lots of fizz. Aroma is a sweet bready malt challenged some grainy notes and gritty hop character. Too much fizz in the mouth for me, but the malty palate is quite smooth, creamy at first then dry hops take you through to a short finish. I’m not trying to fool you here, I wouln’t normally drink this, but as standard Australasian lagers go, this is reasonable.
