This NW style sour old ale is no trick, it’s all treat. We smashed and triple roasted 50 lbs of pumpkin down to 6 lbs, then aged the beer for 11 months on the roasted pumpkin in rum barrels. The aromas of spiced rum, mingled with the soft notes of roasted pumpkin, are notice up front. Spice, roasted pumpkin and rum is followed by a soft warming from within. Be warned, you might get pumpkin smashed!

On tap 5 oz pour at Elysian’s Great Pumpkin beer festival 2013. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a tan head that leaves good lacing. Smells of pumpkin, spices, rum and oak. Tastes of all the same things in the smell with a vineger like sourness. mouthfeel is nice and creamy the good carbonation and a dry finish. Glad that I got to try this amazing beer.

750ml bottle, bought from Beer Run. Poured a cloudy amber red color, small off-white head. Aroma was sharp sour notes, light fruit. Tart, sour, sweet notes. Not really getting a lot of pumpkin at all in this - maybe I am just missing it? Very easy to drink though, almost pounded half the bottle without a problem. Very good.

Draft at BittetCreek. A nice cap to the flight. Hazy, dark amber with small, creamy head. Light aroma, but gets serious after that. Taste is pure pumpkin, and light tingling sourness. Velvety smooth, creamy. Truly delicious.

Sampled from the tap at Happy Gnome. Pours a clear copper amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is quite sour with a decent amount of acid, light spice and some pumpkin underlying. Flavor has more pumpkin and spice with a growing light sour note.

This murky orange beer pulls off being a really good barreled beer, a really good sour and a really good pumpkin ale all at the same time. Sour and acidic, great spice and pumpkin nose and finish. The Brandy especially shines thought the subtler bourbon is nice too. Delicious. 4.2-4.3.

750ml, chugged. Tart, minimal spice, minimal bourbon, minimal sweetness. Pretty palate wrecking. Decent, not their best work.

On tap at the brewery. Amber. Take a pumpkin ale, triple the amount of pumpkin, third the amount of spice, and age it on oak to give it a sharp tang. Pretty darn good.

@ Cascade 16-3-9: mycket söt och kryddig med toner av pepparkakor, ingefära och socker. Lätt syrlig.

Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours reddish amber with a tiny beige head and a pumpkin and fruit aroma. There is a moderately sour fruit flavor with a hint of spice and a warm alcohol trail.
