4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at Toronado SD. Clear amber small creamy off-white, good retention. Lots of sweet rum and brown sugar, some nutmeg and lotsa vanilla and melted butter, not diacetyl. Flavor adds a fair amount of booze, not near the 13.9 abv the barrel guy (Preston) claims. Sourness peaked at a 3ish, alcohol masked pretty well. Low carbonation , full body. Better than Pumking. I said it. Best pumpkin beer Iíve had. 9-4-9-4-18--4.4

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
[Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o j&m] Pours a deep golden-amber with an average size diminishing fizzy off-white head. Really nice aroma of pumpkin, spices, light sour fruit, yeast and toffee. Flavour, also nice, of sour fruit, spices, pumpkin, caramel malt and some light bitterness in the finish. Alcohol is very well hidden. Average to medium bodied. Awesome stuff.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014-08-08. Lightly hazy dark amber brown body with a nice beige head fades. 3++ Aroma is lovely, sweet rich fruity pumpkin blends really well with the spice character. 8++ Flavour is interesting, the first sips oscillate between sour and sweet fruity pumpkin, with pleasantly mildspice in the background. Lingering tangy sourness and spice. I like all the elements individually but they donít come together as nicely as in the aroma. Light oak, notes of rum that I didnít place until someone read the back of the bottle. 7+ Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate, soft but effervescent carbonation. Quite interesting. Pretty nice. The 12% abv on the comes as a shock - it is very dangerously drinkable. Bottle via trade with iguenard

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle. Orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some strong pumpkin and nutmeg notes, as well as a bit of toffee. The flavor is the same with some tart, acidic notes coming through as well. As the beer warms it really starts to open up and the pumpkin pie flavors come through strongly. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ Avery Sour Fest 2014. 2011 Vintage. Pour is murky toffee with a small white head and good lacing. Heavy caramel, candy corn, toffee, rich butterscotch, nutmeg, and tangy aroma. Taste is spicy, yammy, brown sugar, caramel, graham crackers, and tangy ending lightly sour. Kind of weird. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Not very good.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ Avery Sour Fest 2014. Pours a murky brown appearance with a good sized tan head. Aroma was, not surprisingly, quite spicy with a lot of nutmeg and cinnamon. There was a cola-like presence to the nose that seemingly was the pumpkin. The pumpkin was a little more obvious in the flavor but I still got a soda-like flavor along with a shit load of cinnamon. Another case of a pretty decent aroma and a less exciting flavor.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
75o ml bottle acquired via a trade on BA. Thanks! Opened at our Oscars Sour Lineup. Pours a darker reddish copper pour, a decent haziness leaves the body a bit dulled but the light strikes quite nicely on the edges. A tannish head atop dies down to a small ring clinger overall, light lacing sticks around. Aromas are more pie based than expected, showing distinct pie spice, cinnamon and clove meet touches of dark fruit, caramel and nutmeg. Carmelized malts, brown sugar and sour pumpkin, gentle red fruit touches. Fairly complex overall. Aromas are a bit sweet and sugary, caramel and toffee elements strike, pie spices start to hit the palate with cinnamon, clove, and gentle carmelized sugars. The tartness hits, a decent hit of citrusy lactic life, touches of red fruit, tart and a bit sweet. Lactic presence hits as a firm presence, yogurt and tart, lemony and some red fruit elements, still showing some firm base elements at times. The sourness seems a bit out of place, obviously. Gentle rum elements, brown sugar, gentle warmth as we finish up and lingering tartness. Overall, itís a vast improvement over something like Timmermanís Pumpkin Lambicus, but still feels a bit odd overall. The flavors are good, the flow seems a bit off for me (But I just think thatís my personal preference). A bit warm and sweet at times, but certainly interesting, and a solid beer overall. Definitely not one of my favorite Cascades, but Iím glad I got a chance to try it.
