3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A hazed reddish brown saison with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a nutty malt with roasted notes, rye grains, OK. In mouth, a nice roasted malt with rye notes, grassy, veering on German dunkel. On tap at Portland brewery, Oct. 7 2012.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the Barrel House. Red-orange-brown with lace. Tart try, chocolate, spices in the nose. Sweet-and-sour rye flavor, chocolate and spice, cloves. Complex and deap. Great balance, with a nice tang.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Cascade Brewing, pours a clear reddish dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma has not much of anything, maybe some dry caramel malt. Flavour is more pronounced with some fruity caramel notes. Bland, but unoffensive. Boring.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
poured from tap into a tulip. Pours a nice red color with a foamy head.
Very nice and spice based aromas along with malts, red fruits and red florals as well.
Medium bodied with a nice creamy smooth feel. But, it’s a bit clipped at the end along with solid flavors of malts, spices and some red fruits.
This was a rye saison. Different and interesting, but not on the level of their more sour beers.
