4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at LS X. Pours a hazed brown and has a moderate beige head on it. Aroma is tart cherry fruitiness. Has a big, slightly wine-like sour cherry flavor with some dry oak woodiness on the finish. This also has a bit of an herbal flavor somewhere along the line. A delicious fruity sour.

Rating #2201 - 2015.12.01 - #CraftBeerFantasyLeague Battle: Barrel-Aged Beauties - This finished 2nd of 9 entries. Bottle (2012). Pours a deep reddish brown with a bubbly head that disapparates rather quickly. Aroma is berries, wild cherries, sour plum tartness - rich, fruity texture. Palate is well balanced - lots of tart cherry, sweetness from the barrel component, some woody oak components, some vineous Cab notes, and a leathery bitter funk note - lovely sour/bruin.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2016
Heavy aroma of malts, caramel, wood, grapes, berries, wine and acidity.
Turbid/opaque red/brown beer with a medium beige/brown head.
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, wood, grapes and berries; ends medium dry and sour with wine and acidity.
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. The red ale with added grapes and aged in oak, the red ale aged in port and the red ale aged in pinot noir are perfect together. The wine flavour these three ales create is simply superb and unbeatable.

Wonderful beer, really great. The perfect sourness, never artificial. The other flavors of the barrels get through after a while as well. Perfection.

On tap at OIBF’16. Hazy dark brown colour, off-white head. Lovely aroma of oak, vanilla, red wine, light funk, acid, balsamic vinegar, wood. Flavour is quite sour upfront, balsamic vinegar, lemon, red wine, wood, sourness fades a bit later on, with more sweetness, vanilla, lots of oak, grapes, tart finish. Medium bodied. Wow, 10% sour red.. Great stuff.
