This live barrel of Northwest style sour blonde ale was aged for 8 months in Chardonnay barrels and is a taste of one of the components of next year’s Apricot blend. Sharp tart white grape skins, oak and sweet malt greet you on the nose. Hints of light fruit and essences of white wine roll across the palate. The hint of vanilla in the finish makes this beer a prime candidate for our Apricots blend.

Golden in color, slight haze with a thin head. There is a slight wine barrel aroma. Lots of spice and light malt flavors. The beer sets up well as a light fruity/floral beer. The wine (Chardonnay) gives off a dry tartness in the finish.

Live from the barrel at the Portland location - Sweet winey perfume. Great and interesting nose. Sherry-like. A little weak in the mouth.

draft. clear gold with a white head. crystalline sugared frruit estery nose with peppery phenols and peach and dried apricot skin and rind notes. ginger ale likeness is remarkable, and it seems to have an herbal root tea character with acidic sharpness and pepperiness.

On tap at Cascade Barrel House. Pours cloudy golden with an attractive off-white head and a sour fruity aroma. There is a slightly thin sourish pale malt flavor that sticks to the palate. I expected it to derive a more of a tartness from the grape skins, but it does leaves an impression of sour on the palate.
