Straight from the barrel at Cascade Barrel House in Portland, OR on 29 May 2013. Hazy pinkish blonde pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is a very definitely strawberries and cream, some acidic sourness in there too, so it’s not sickly. Full flavours; harmonic sweet, sugary strawberries, good sour elements and some dry grains.

Draft at Racoon Lodge.

This one was listed as Strawberry, but the bartender claims it is actually the vanilla-added Strawberries and Cream -- they stuck with the Strawberry moniker to keep things simple.

Very much of a strawberries and cream thing going on in the aroma, like the lifesavers candy, a bit of lemon in addition to the strawberries and vanilla. Flavor is not so sour, following the aroma quite closely: strawberries, lemon, vanilla, a hint of bourbon. Fairly light and refreshing despit a listing of 7.1 ABV%. Quite a respectable fruit sour. I feel like I’m lowballing a bit at 3.8.

From the Barrel at Cascade, PDX, 22/05/13. Listed 7.17%. Lightly hazed pale blonde with a reddish tinge and a very thin white head. Nose is strawberries and cream, light sour notes. Tate comprises tarte strawberries married with sweet cream, light sours, funk, touch of cobwebs, sugars, light wood. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, tarte fruit finish, delicate puckerings. Ok drinkable stuff - delivered what it said on the tin but too sweet for a sour.

From the live barrel. Golden red color. Sour and tart but refreshing with hints of vanilla, strawberry that are balanced fantastically too.

Draft. Hazy reddish pour, with off white head. Tartness, strawberry, light sour unripe fruit, notes of strawberry seeds, and some vanilla. Fairly light and drinkable, not very acidic. Nice.

Pours a light golden-red color with an off-white head. Nose is quite fruity and tart. Not distinctly strawberry in aroma, but there is a nice vanilla and creamy sweetness. Some mild oak and a good fruity tartness. The flavor has a bit of unripe strawberry sourness, some lemon notes, and an interesting sweetness of vanilla and bourbon. Some oak notes and a mild malt flavor. Pretty interesting and nice.
