COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour is a crisp, refreshing wheat beer that was barrel-aged for seven months then additionaly aged with strawberries for another eight months. Bright, sweet strawberries and light candy notes greet you in the nose. A light tartness and berry sweetness intermingle on the palate, giving way to a light, sparkling fresh berry tartness in the finish. It is better as a breakfast beer or a dessert? You decide.

750 ml corked and caged bottle. 2012 Project. Aroma consists of dusty brett, strawberries, Kool-Aid powder, cider vinegar. Pours hazy orange with a collapsing white head. Taste is sour (10/10 on a sour scale), acidic, funky, almonds. Highly carbonated, medium body. Nice one.

2012 vintage 750ml scott purchased directly from cascade in January 2014. Think it was $20. Label says 7.1% ABV. Pours a hazy peach color with a very large bottle conditioned type head. Not a gusher, though. Aromas of yogurt, strawberry kefir, oak. Taste is moderate to heavy sour with low bitterness, even for this style. Flavor is strawberry Greek yogurt with all the grittiness included along with strawberry seeds and oak branches. Very impressive. High carbonation. Phlegm inducing. Finish is puckering and satisfying, with a noticeable amount of sweaty tartness, berries and twigs. Iím pretty sure I could drink this all night. Not the best beer Iíve ever had, but itís pretty damn close.

Bottle shared thanks to JBPortland. Pours a hazy peach golden color with a finger of white foam. On first whiff I get a touch of melted plastic but I always seem to get that in strawberry beers... WTF. Anyhow that aspect does fade away and opens into a soft strawberry sent with hints of straw, oak and cereal malts. The palate is bright and well balanced between fruit flavors, tart acidity and oak notes. Spritz carbonation keeps it light and refreshing though the straw and cereal malts round out the back end nicely too. Great strawberry flavor without being cloying and layers of berry and stonefruit notes linger in the palate as well. Tasty brew !

750ml bottle pours hazy pink tinted orange with a finger of head. Nose is musty tart strawberry and a little funk. Taste is juicy tart strawberry, peach, nectarine, dusty barrel. Finish is nice funky semi-sweet strawberry and fruit juice. Very good.

@Gyllenbock: ganska diskret doft med små hint av jordgubbar. Smaken har en trevlig syrlighet men igen inte så mycket frukt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Bottle bought at Bottle Barn, Santa Rosa in February 2014. Hazy light orange with a small head. Aroma of strawberries, some earth, citrus. Similar taste, although not as much strawberries as in the aroma. Refreshing, medium tart and easy to drink.

Sample at Kurtkeller 006: Cascade-tastic 01 on 02/21/2014. Pours a hazy reddish-gold color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily to a film. The aroma consists of fresh strawberries and yeast. Medium-bodied with flavors of tart strawberry, oak and yeast. The finish is mildly funky with a lingering berry aftertaste. Good beer all around.

On tap at Cascade Barrel Room. A friendís wife described this as Babieís foot that you used to chew on when you were a kid but in a glass...given that I have no experience with that I will say that it was an artificial strawberry taste, high carbonation, light, big sour on the palate, tart and dry. A beer that was all over the place for sure.

Hazy orangeish red colored pour. Big fluffy off-white head. Tons of lacing. Nice strawberry aroma. A nutty note like strawberry seeds. A sour note. Nice tart note in the mouth right up front. A slight strawberry note. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
