This NW style sour is a crisp, refreshing wheat beer that was barrel-aged for seven months then additionaly aged with strawberries for another eight months. Bright, sweet strawberries and light candy notes greet you in the nose. A light tartness and berry sweetness intermingle on the palate, giving way to a light, sparkling fresh berry tartness in the finish. It is better as a breakfast beer or a dessert? You decide.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, hazy orange red pour with white head, aroma brought big strawberry, nice oak, vanilla, hints of lemon, slight earthy, sweet biscuit and bready notes. Taste is a mix of sweet strawberry, seeds, grassy notes into some lemon, earth, slight oak, touch of orange in there, finishing with some vanilla, sour lacto. Pretty nice, tasty stuff, very drinkable.

2012 vintage 750ml scott purchased directly from cascade in January 2014. Think it was $20. Label says 7.1% ABV. Pours a hazy peach color with a very large bottle conditioned type head. Not a gusher, though. Aromas of yogurt, strawberry kefir, oak. Taste is moderate to heavy sour with low bitterness, even for this style. Flavor is strawberry Greek yogurt with all the grittiness included along with strawberry seeds and oak branches. Very impressive. High carbonation. Phlegm inducing. Finish is puckering and satisfying, with a noticeable amount of sweaty tartness, berries and twigs. I’m pretty sure I could drink this all night. Not the best beer I’ve ever had, but it’s pretty damn close.
