This NW style sour is a crisp, refreshing wheat beer that was barrel-aged for seven months then additionaly aged with strawberries for another eight months. Bright, sweet strawberries and light candy notes greet you in the nose. A light tartness and berry sweetness intermingle on the palate, giving way to a light, sparkling fresh berry tartness in the finish. It is better as a breakfast beer or a dessert? You decide.

Hazy brilliant copper with a little rosey hue. Strong strawberry nose with a big sour fruity twang. Big sour flavor with large fruity sourness--like, quite sour and a little puckering but with a sweet and juicy strawberry tone. Balances nicely with a funky lacto backbone that’s tart and drying.

bottle shared by tom10101, thanks bro. pours hazy/cloudy bright golden with avery nice off-whtie head, good retention and lacing. wild strawberries - obvious, clean and deliciously fragrant, soft tannins and oakiness, light supporting acidity - lactic and citric mostly, leafy and grassiness, pale clean maltiness with a wheat whisper. no rubber or wax perceived. lively carbonation, light body, dry, gently tart and grassy-woodsy-leafy finish. not the most complex strawberry wild concotion, but surely effective with its clean and fresh strawberry flavours. very good!

My Bottom Line:
Strawberry jam turns into moderate tartness, as wax-y moments and mineral bursts mar what could have been a very nice sour ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the pinkish red.
-Shoe sole wafts aren’t too pleasant.
-Acidity level is not too intense.
-Strawberries are actually easily perceived and pleasant; it’s just that they turn to rubber and wax at times...

Bottle; gros merci Martin et Michèle!

Bottle (750 ml). Hazy golden/orange with a small off-white bubbly head. Aroma is enticing with a very nice wild strawberries presence, hay, light acidic notes, citrus presence and lactic presence. Taste is slightly sweet (not cloying at all) with a nice wild strawberries presence, hay, lactic notes, citrus and hints of oak. Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Slightly dry finish. Superb wild strawberry aroma/flavor with a nice lactic touch that enhance drinkability. Quite tasty even tough not super complex.

Bottle shared at a tasting. Hazy gold pour with thin white head. Straight up strawberries on the aroma, really nice fruity wild strawberries, light lemony and plain yoghurt lactic aromas. Taste is lactic, nice fresh strawberries, beautiful bright wild strawberry and plain yoghurt flavor. Pretty simple aroma and flavor profile but oh so delicious. Very nice.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2014 Pours a hazy golden with a small white rim that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of fruits, pretty sure they are strawberries and thank god, no acetic acid/vinegar like a lot of Cascade’s products. Taste is also of light and natural strawberries and not too acid. Body is light and almost watery, carbonation is medium-high. Overall a really nice Cascade, I’d drink that again!
