This easy drinking NW style sour ale was aged in rum barrels for 20 months with tangerine zest, then blended with our Apricot Ale. Sweet aromas of tangerine and rum are the first thing you notice as you draw your glass near. A quenching sweet citrus, then rum spice take turns dancing on your palate. Rich rum spice and warmth lead to a lingering sweet tangerine finish like warn sand. Most rum beers only go to 10, ours goes to 11!

Appearance: Pours a bright yellow orange with a tight white cap.

Aroma: Tangerine, sweet tart, funk.

Taste: Sweet tarts, cactus cooler, slight bitterness, some oak tannins, and spicy funky finish.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied, a touch chalky, modest carbonation.

Overall: I’m amazed that this is 11%, seemed more sour and funky than something 11% aged in Rum barrels. Very tasty, very drinkable, want more!!

Cloudy golden with a small white head, no lacing. Aroma is tart, vinegar and sharp citrus. Taste is acidic, citrus, dry finish. Harsh, burns the throat.

Gold, hazy, thin off-white head. Tart tangerine, fairly firm acidity with a little burn, grainy and toasty malt, nice tangerine character but acetic acid on high side.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy tangerine, orange, sweet tarts, and a touch of lemon. It pours a lightly hazy golden-orange with a small fizzy white head that quickly fades to a very fine ring. The flavor starts with moderate tangerine/orange. The finish has moderate sweet tarts, light lemon, faint orange peel, and just a touch of alcohol. It’s medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bottle @ Avery Sour Fest 2014. Pours a milky yellow orange appearance with a white head. Vanilla, coconut, a touch of oak, and a fair amount of orange in the nose. The flavor is full of juicy fruit - pineapple, orange / tangerine, and a bit of mango. Kind of a fun beer.

At Avery Sour Fest ’14. Cloudy orange with good carbonation. Loads of stone fruit on the nose, with light funk. Flavor is predominated by apricots, but there is an orange juice streak through it and citrus zest if you look for it, Without knowing I would just say this is an apricot sour, but citrus lends a nice fruit dimension that gives the perception of sweetness even thought it’s totally dry. Terrific beer-one of the tops of the day.

bottle as shown, neon orange .. . smells of orange gatorade powder .. . follows to the taste, with tangerine and apricot .. . quite sweet, mild tartness .. . pretty damn tasty admittedly a bit one dimensional, but who cares .. . . get the machine that goes BING!!
