COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This easy drinking NW style sour ale was aged in rum barrels for 20 months with tangerine zest, then blended with our Apricot Ale. Sweet aromas of tangerine and rum are the first thing you notice as you draw your glass near. A quenching sweet citrus, then rum spice take turns dancing on your palate. Rich rum spice and warmth lead to a lingering sweet tangerine finish like warn sand. Most rum beers only go to 10, ours goes to 11!

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy tangerine, orange, sweet tarts, and a touch of lemon. It pours a lightly hazy golden-orange with a small fizzy white head that quickly fades to a very fine ring. The flavor starts with moderate tangerine/orange. The finish has moderate sweet tarts, light lemon, faint orange peel, and just a touch of alcohol. It’s medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bottle @ Avery Sour Fest 2014. Pours a milky yellow orange appearance with a white head. Vanilla, coconut, a touch of oak, and a fair amount of orange in the nose. The flavor is full of juicy fruit - pineapple, orange / tangerine, and a bit of mango. Kind of a fun beer.

At Avery Sour Fest ’14. Cloudy orange with good carbonation. Loads of stone fruit on the nose, with light funk. Flavor is predominated by apricots, but there is an orange juice streak through it and citrus zest if you look for it, Without knowing I would just say this is an apricot sour, but citrus lends a nice fruit dimension that gives the perception of sweetness even thought it’s totally dry. Terrific beer-one of the tops of the day.

25.4 oz bottle. Clearish copper with off-white froth. Nose is barnyard, orange peel, lemon pith, wood and rum. Bright and fruity with vibrant carb; crisp and quenching, lightly sticky.Taste is sweet and sour tangerine, rum, apricot, toffee and leather. Lovely blending of the fruit and barrel notes evocative of a tropical punch.

This one poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was of sour melons, tangerines and apricots and light hay. Flavor was mild funk, vinegar, tart lemon and sugar coated apricots.

2011 Project Bottle : Pour is murky gold - it begins lighter gold and morphs slowly with the pour into something darker and more interesting ; the head is modest frothy off white into this glass - retention is poor, moving to a light ring and a hint of haze in this glass. The nose is spices, light booze, and heavy citrus notes here ; earthen oak, rind, and sweet citrus. The flavor profile is initial souring notes, light funk - moving to barrel treatment ; rum is noticeable, with spicey notes that merge into a creamcicle finish. Personally ; I was fairly impressed with this one - If anything though - it had an edge to it thanks to the heavy body and heavy abv - something you dont expect out of something brewed with tangerine zest and apricot.

Bottle shared thanks to beerman6686 at DLD. Pours a cloudy orange color. Aromas of sour funk. Slightly tart taste without getting much of the rum spice in the end.
