Draft at City Beer’s 5th Anniversary. Embrace the rarity! Hazy dark reddish brown in color with a small light tan head. The aroma is fruity, acetic, and bretty with decent tart funkiness. The flavor is fruity with red berries and bourbon, Brett, lacto, and other wild yeast, and oak and vinegar. Tart but a little sweet. Medium bodied with average carbonation and mild acidity. Pretty solid, and the rarity is delicious if I do say.

Draft at Hudson House. Pours a dark burgundy with a lot of woody ebony notes in the middle. Looks pretty flat and still. Almost vinous just to look at it. Big sharp oaky nose, showing some lacto as well, plenty of strawberry and balsamic. Watery body a little closer to medium than to light. Sharp oak, balsamic on the mid palate. Bracing and fairly refreshing, but lacking the complexity and pop of the usual Cascade delights.

Gravity drawn cask barrel at the Cascade Barrel House... Poured hazy, reddish/ruby with a thick, foamy, beige head. Nose had that typical lacto sourness in Cascade beers. Lots of yeast sour acidity going on. Plump fruit flavors, tomatoes even. Sweet, malty, big time carbonation, and a dry finish.
