Pours a near clear orange/brown with a nice white thick froth and great lacing. Aroma is sweet and fruity, urinal cake. Flavor is sweet and tart, sugary, tart candy like, medium crisp acidity. Body is crisp, sharp fizzy carbonation, fairly fluffy. Very sweet, had no idea it was 9.2%. marcus (1853), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 26, 2009 This cloudy orange/amber beer poured with a fluffy off-white head and a sour grape and alcohol aroma. The flavor is sort of lambic with lots of grape in it. Maybe like Cantillon Vigneronne. There is a fairly sour finish. bhensonb (4248), Woodland, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 26, 2009 Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours hazy woody amber with 3-fingers of fluffy off-white head. Strong vinous aroma. Aspects of sour. Medium body and frothy carbonation. Flavor is grapey, whiteish grapey, sour. Very nice, subtle sour. Goes very well with Mt Tam cheese. Finishes deliciously and smoothly sour. It’s very nice stuff. MartinT (5050), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 25, 2009 My Bottom Line:
White grapes, wooden tannins and menthol notes blend into lightly honeyed cereals in this exciting Sour Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam floats atop the cloudy bright orange.
-The flavor profile is very enticing, but having tasted a few other Cascade sour ales, I’d say this one could be better polished.
-The prickly effervescence is a bit too much for the body, imho.
-A farm-like character exudes from the yeast profile.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2009 Pours a cloudy light to medium brown with an off-white head. Aromas of asian pear and dragonfruit. Flavor is refined and well balanced with sour grapes, green apple, and a funky tart finish. Very refreshing an well balanced - a pleasure to drink. It does, however lack the complexity of other sour ales... RCL (1460), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2009 Aroma is like tropical fruits, vanilla, and just a hint of light caramel. Flavor echoes this with a nice sourness balanced with some oak-y sweetness.
