Hazy Orange color with a lite head. Tart fruity aroma. Very citrus. Tart lightly fruity with a bit of a musty afertaste. Sour fruit is dominent. Good brew.

Tuesday Tasting sample thanks to grownfool. Effervescent orange-copper, beige cover. Aroma is funky sock, fruity, a bit plastic slick sweetness. Taste is acetic, sweet fruit, caramel, apricot. The differences between the 8.33 and 9.2 versions are not much worth noting.

23rd September 2010. Bottle shared with Mes&Sim. Cloudy amber beer. No real head. Light funky nose. Crisp dry palate. Lightly sour and tart, turns soft in the mouth. Light worcester sauce sourness with a follow through of something sweeter - I guess the grape but I found it elusive. Does have winey aftertaste though! Nice drinkable sour, if only all sours were as drinkable!

Sampled at GABF 2009. Complex, sour, with a lot of dimension. Some sweetness present as well. Very thought-provoking, fairly well-balanced, but with a few mismatched components. Interesting stuff.

(bottle - corked & caged 750 ml) Took a bit to get the cork out, but it was worth it. Copper color with a fizzy white head. Sour and tart aroma with a mild sweetness underneath it. Nice and tart flavor at the start but not overpowering. Nice and smooth with just enough sweetness to balance out the tartness. Finishes very fruity and smooth. Really good.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 MesandSim (7108) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 23, 2010
A Mes rate. Bottle thanks to our Ken. Hazy yellow brown with a very effervescent and short lived white head. Not the best looking beer in all honesty but where I was let down on first impressions, the rest has EASILY made up for it. Superb snout. Full of tarty fruit and barrelly madness. A slight sweetness underpins it beautifully well. The flavour is even better. My god, this is a special one. The white wine comes through really well and gives a stunning base for all the tarty stuff to chomp into. Plenty of zing round the palate. A really juicy start develops the sourness as it goes. There is an almost tangerine type note too. It’s an absolute beauty. The tart and sour character swiftly diminishes in the finish and the grapes and other sweet juicy stuff comes bursting through. Epic length. Masses of character. Oh, where the bloody hell is the alcohol? I could down this with no trouble. Actually I could do the whole bottle. It drinks like a five percenter at most. Gloriously refreshing, full of interest and about the most finesse I have experienced in an American beer. Absolutely spectacular.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 illinismitty (2239) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 14, 2010
GABF 2009 backlog. Pours golden with a white head. Tastes like a strong golden ale with strong notes of chardonnay wine. Slight oakey finish. Good
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Tsotsi (178) - Florida, USA - SEP 9, 2010
750ml Bottle shared by SoLan. Pours a golden orange color with a white head. Nose is full of citrus, orange, sour notes, slight funk and get some tangerine as well. FLavor is sour at first followed by the lovely orange and citrus flavors. Get some earthy notes and slight sweetness which balances great with the sourness. Also a bit of funk in there as well. Nice beer.
