GABF 2009. Pours sparkling light yellow with an average, frothy off-white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (straw, grain, meal), light hop (grass), average yeast (earth, musty) with notes of pear, honey, and pepper. Medium bodied, mineral texture, lively carbonation, and a sour finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and sourness.

750 ml bottle poured a clear golden amber with a lingering ring of ivory foam. Aromas of apple, straw, apricot, light grape and light oak. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of straw, apple, white grapes, light oak and a hint of vanilla with a crisp dry tart lingering oak finish.

750ml bottle (ChrisO Pre-GBBF2011 "Donkey Dork Lord" Shindig)
Very lemony aroma. Sharp and crisp palate, nicely refreshing. Winey character negligible, fortunately, it’s mostly turned to real and welcome acidity. Covers 8.3% well.

Bottle shared at CCB. Nice damn beer. Amazing!! Cloudy rich gold pour. White head. Aroma is really nice. Sour, fruity, and delicious. Flavor is sweet/sour with loads of fruit and some light vinous notes. This is really, really nice.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle… This beer rocks!… Murky apricot-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Fantastic creamy retention. The nose is totally funkadelic – chardonnay, barnyard, fallen wood, sharp cheese, lemon and fuzzy fruits. Full-bodied and creamy with active carbonation. Moderately sour, bready, lightly bitter and very fruity – apricot, lemon and a whisper of sour cherry. Tart, crisp, mildly woody finish. Totally blown away by this world class brew I picked up in little old Vero Beach, Florida… life is good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle acquired in trade with bu11zeye (thanks!). Poured a medium amberish color with a smaller sized off white head that quickly dissipated. Aromas of grapes, woodiness (that came out as the beer opened up), vanilla, and some funk. Tastes of the same grapes, woodiness, citrus, and the same lighter funkiness. Lighter tart finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ Brent’s house. 2011 vintage. Pours a rich hazy, golden appearance with a white head. White grape, apricot, light vanilla, a bit oaky, peach aroma. Tangy, Smartees, peach, apricot, lightly tart, fresh, super easy drinking flavor with a bit of lactic on the finish. Really nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pale golden beer with a thin white head. The sroma is very light with a touch of vanilla and sweet malt added to a pale Belgian malt base. Spicy yeast and a bit of fruit character as well. Dry with a fairly tannic character on the back. Vineous but the tartness here is restrained letting a more Belgian sort of character come to the fore. Lovely and light.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750mL courtesy of OldSock aka The Mad Fermentationist. The pour is a deep, clear gold with little to no head. Lace protein cut by acids. Sweet white concord grape nose, straight white grape juice. No vinous complexity. As it warms you get white wine vinegar, salt, and small bourbon like alcohol notes. Taste is spicy and acetic acid sharp on the palate. Moves to sweet white grape juice. Feels boozy, overly sweet with honey. As it warms it gets better with more vinegar and salt brine, an improvement over white grape juice. Very strange. Fun to try but not worth any expensive foray to obtain.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2009 Bottle. Light orange colored body, clear. Nose is strangely chemical like, full of juniper and spicy/peppery white grapes. Tastes strangely artificial, spiced and fortified. Syrupy and saccharine sweet. Kinda bad overall, to be honest.
