Dark yellow with a good pale head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is sour candy, oak, booze, stone fruits. Smooth and sweet on the palate with a fruity finish. Taste is dried apricots, peach, hint of cherry. So good.

Bottle shared by a friend. Clear amber pour with a thick off-white head. Sweet malt nose with notes of cider vinegar and a bit of spice. Malty flavor with some caramel character, then moves to spice and pepper before a sour finish.

Craft Clerkenwell tasting. Thanks to Aaron. Light haze on thus amber beer, little pale cream coloured head. Light palate, softish and semi dry. Sourish vinegar perfectly balanced with Worcester sauce and generic fruits. Worcester sauce start to dominate before the dry finish. Tangy and tasty.

2011. Apples, pears, spice, and a touch of Clorox on the nose. Deceptively drinkable: dry, spicy, pays Hommage to its stylistic roots while forging new ground. Booze feels hidden, then shows itself after swallowing. Tasty; this is drinking better than the '09 right now.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell - London. Big thanks to Aaron for bringing this along. Pours lightly hazy amber-gold with a creamy head. Tangy berry nose, some sweaty man. Big sweet flavor with tangy and jammy fruits, berries, some flab, some booze. Full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Warming finish with salty perspiration, ripe fruits. So so. I would agree with Jack on this one: itís a bit flabby.

Very nice sour. Our bottlr had very low carbonation. Big "smarties" quality. Very good sour. Not very much on the spiciness, but still delivious.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sample at Cascade Barrel House, alongside the non-soured Anti-Vlad. Hazy orange-gold, small fluffy head that recedes to a ring of lace. So much going on in this one: tart cherry and lemon skin, big vanilla and toasted marshmallow notes, with the sourness just lancing right through it all. Surprisingly dry finish for such a strong brew. If I could pick one beer to buy cases of and cellar, this would be it.
