COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wood aged Pale Quadruppel. Imagine a blend of Scaldis and Cantillon Pure Kriek. Forget it, there is nothing like it (yet). Vlad is shocking to your sour beer senses and taste buds, which do not understand that such a balanced delicate sour beer can be so drinkable and appeal to so many people while being extreme. But don’t forget, it will still open a can of 10.6% whoop-ass on your ass after all the pomp & circumstance of what an amazing beer it is subsides.

Tasted on 9/30/12 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle sent to me by Chris, big thanks. Pours hazy dark orange with an average white head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is sour and dusty with some sweet caramel malt, funky yeast, and some oak treatment that has both vanilla and vinous notes. The flavor is a bit more barrel focused with the vanilla and vinous notes taking over, a nice sourness, and sweet caramel malt, very interesting. The body is full with a bit of an oily texture, some tannin, average carbonation, and a long sour and vinous wine barrel finish.

On draft. Pours a dark yellow with a white head. Nose is malt, some dark fruit, some oak, and some sweetness, and some funk. Flavor is similar with malt, sweet fruit, sweetness, funk, spice, and a large alcohol presence. Medium to full in body and a behemoth overall.

2011 bottle. Golden pour. Aroma is lovely and subtle - some easygoing citrus. Taste is beautiful - lemon oak, lots to enjoy here though. Nothing jumps out crazily but just a great drinker. Has a lovely vanilla sweetness on finish. Overall really great sour here!

750 ml bottle at home. 2011 project. Pours cloudy dark orange with a tiny off-whte fine bubbled head. Nice carbonation level, soapy legs. Spicy oaky aromas, a little dusty, sweet peach lemon wine gum, a bit of pear. Medium body with loads of sweetness, sour lactic character coming through a bit but still ok, dusty notes coming back in the end as well. Taste is sweet peach, some malt flavours. This is a nice American sour I must admit.
