Wood aged Pale Quadruppel. Imagine a blend of Scaldis and Cantillon Pure Kriek. Forget it, there is nothing like it (yet). Vlad is shocking to your sour beer senses and taste buds, which do not understand that such a balanced delicate sour beer can be so drinkable and appeal to so many people while being extreme. But don’t forget, it will still open a can of 10.6% whoop-ass on your ass after all the pomp & circumstance of what an amazing beer it is subsides.

Naven brought a bottle of this by for the unofficial Death Metal Beer Tasting that we had at my pad last week. I cannot come up with enough clever notes that haven’t been said already, but know that this is a great sour ale and definitely worth seeking out. Oh, hell, who am I kidding... I was already pretty well on my way when we cracked this open. All I remember is that it lives up to the score it has. Sour like all, get out.

Bottle, 2011 vintage, shared at game night. Very hazy light orange with a lively off white head. Interesting aroma of lactic sourness and soft barrel traits, with surprising notes of chocolate and stinky feet. The palate is both sweet and sour in terrific balance, flavour notes of vanilla, plums, chocolate, yoghurt, light leathery dryness. A softer sour offering, with a surprising and beguling complexity that enhances drinkability. Awesome beer!
