And the award for the most growlers provided to a tasting group goes to...(drum roll)...drabmuh. Yet again, thanks Matt! The beer appears clear and golden orange hued with a small white head. Spices, particularly of the Christmas (or holiday, if you prefer) variety. Pretty well balanced, though cinnamon stands out a bit. Only a light helping of salt. Personally, I like the briny quality of a bold gose, but this one is still pretty tasty. I would have it again, albeit in small quantities. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 02-22-2012

Tap @ Cascade. Cloudy pinkish-gold pour with a short white head leaving moderate lace. Nose is slightly sour and, well, sorta bilious. Medium body and moderate, fine carbonation. Lemon, wheat is noticeable, berry and tangerine. Finish is short, tart, salty and dry.

On tap at the barrel house 09’. Not a huge gose fan but this was pretty cool. Quite salty and briney with tart grape like notes and a salty finish. It was like drinking food.. kinda strange but good.

Hazy translucent orange, thin head. Aroma of tart berry, lemon peel, peppery yeast/hops/something. Taste is more sour than expected, nice lactic sour with a good malt balance.

Sample tray. Sour with a strong good tasty vinegar note that really cuts through a spicy meal.

Taster @ Chuck’s. Man this is one tart beer. Barely tastes like beer. Uber cloudy pale straw color. Doesn’t look all that great but packs a sour punch. Interesting little beer.

Nice sour-ish gose. Cloudy orange/rust color. Ripe aromatics showing plenty of red fruit. Semi-sour palate with layers of tart berries medium to long finish. Great acidity- would be amazing with food.

Big thanks to drabmuh for securing this growler and bringing it to the Cascade tasting. Served in a Cascade Barrel House goblet. Pours a fairly-clear orange color with a nice white head and a bit of lacing on the way down. Thin collar throughout. The nose has a nice combination of cranberry, citrus, and lacto. Nothing over the top, but plenty there. The flavor hits the same notes, with the spice and fruit mixing really well with the acid. Very light salty note, which goes well with the acidity. Mouthfeel is very light with a dry, acidic finish. Really impressive from the folks in Portland.

On tap at Chuck’s 85th Market. Smell is slightly fruity. Taste is a tart tangerine and citrus. Very light body, very refreshing. Solid drink.
