Nice nutty with slightly coffee aroma. Bitter cocoa with rich and deep malt flavor. Says Brown Ale on the bottle but closer to a Nut Brown Ale due to the slight aftertaste of hazelnut. Not very impressive, sort of mild and bland.

Slightly roasty soapy aroma. Color is a light translucent brownish red. Palate is surprisingly thick, warming. Flavor is caramel, dark roasty malt, smooth and slightly sweet. Not as bad as I expected.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with moderate beige head. The aroma is sweet with chocolate and caramel notes, some slight fig and molasses, a touch of leather, and a distant hint of wet forest. The flavor is chocolate and caramel with an ashy bitterness (good- the nose worried me that it would be super sweet). The finish is a bit roasty with some wood and moss hints, and a bitterness that lingers for a bit. Not bad.

Dark brown color with little head. Bready but fruity aroma. Fairly balanced but a slight bit of hoppiness in the flavor. Nuttiness on the finish. Clean and crisp.

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is sour with some malt. Flavor is about the same a strange sour with a little malt aftertaste. I’m sure this was infected but even if it wasn’t this was not going to be a good beer.

12oz bottle pours amber/brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, cocoa, nuts, and dark fruits. Taste is bitter chocolate, into mild caramel and toffee, ending on bitter nuts. Not bad, not amazing.

A clear brown color with an off white head that quickly faded away, a slightly over carbonated appearance. Aroma had a nice caramel malt profile and some mild toffee/nut aromas. Flavor was similar. A little too gassy. Beer wasn’t bad or offensive in any way it just wasn’t great.
